A Study On The Current Situation Of International Chinese Language Teachers In Shaanxi Universities

In recent years,with the promotion of "One Belt and One Road" construction and the gradual close relationship between China and foreign countries,the global craze for Chinese language is also rising.By 2021,the number of colleges and universities in Shaanxi that are qualified to admit international students has increased from 7 in the 1960 s to 36.At the same time,the development of international Chinese language teachers as a team of teachers is also receiving more and more attention.Among them,the issue of "teachers" is the core of the "three teachings".The teacher level of international Chinese teachers directly affects the education and teaching of the language and the effect of international promotion of Chinese.Therefore,the author proposes a research on the current situation of international Chinese teachers in Shaanxi universities,which is of great theoretical and practical significance.This paper investigates the basic information,professional knowledge,teaching and management,scientific research,training and professional identity of 139 international Chinese teachers teaching language courses in seven universities in Shaanxi through questionnaires and interviews.The survey results show that the main problems of the international Chinese language teachers in Shaanxi universities are:(1)Problems of individual teachers: inadequate mastery of Chinese teaching principles,unreasonable way of classroom teaching reflection,lack of scientific research ability,insufficient intercultural communication ability,insufficient application ability of modern education technology,and weak sense of professional identity.(2)Problems of the teacher team as a whole: serious shortage of teachers,complex professional background of teachers,heavy teaching tasks,inadequate teacher training system,high proportion of part-time teachers,and poor stability.Finally,taking into account the actual situation of the development of international Chinese education in Shaanxi,countermeasures to promote the high-level development of the international Chinese teaching team in Shaanxi universities are proposed from the aspects of both individual teachers and universities.(1)Countermeasures at the teacher level: improve self-development ability,improve the way of teaching reflection,understand the frontier hotspots of the discipline,improve scientific research ability,become bilingual composite talents,strengthen cross-cultural communication ability,and reasonably use new media to innovate teaching mode.(2)Countermeasures at the university level: increase financial investment to reduce teachers’ workload,give full play to the role of education bases,establish sound entry standards and evaluation mechanisms for part-time teachers,strengthen the training of young teachers by "bringing up new ones with old ones",improve the incentive system to enhance teachers’ professional identity,and explore the "Internet+" training model.
