The Chinese Language and Culture Winter Camp is an important platform for Overseas Chinese teenagers to understand the development status of their home country and experience Chinese culture.It is also one of the important forms of Chinese language education.Oral Chinese teaching,as the main component of the winter camp teaching project,takes the important responsibility for helping Overseas Chinese teenagers communicate fluently in the daily life of the winter camp and experience the charm of Chinese.In order to highlight the teaching characteristics and goals of oral Chinese teaching in winter camp and solve the current problems of teaching,this article takes the Guangqi Winter Camp of Huaqiao University as an example to explore the application of Thematic Teaching.The Thematic Teaching design based on the Thematic Teaching theory explores ways to improve the current situation of oral Chinese teaching in winter camp and improve students' Chinese language communicative competence.Firstly,this article analyzes the teaching objects,teaching goals,and teaching status of the Guangqi Winter Camp in Huaqiao University.Then,according to the application process of Thematic Teaching mode,the teaching themes are selected for the oral course of Guangqi Winter Camp of Huaqiao University,the theme network diagrams are designed,the forms and contents of the thematic activity are designed,and the authentic evaluation of the thematic teaching is also analyzed.Furthermore,based on the theme of Chinese food,a specific thematic teaching case is designed for the oral course.Finally,the effects and deficiencies of the application of Thematic teaching in oral Chinese teaching are evaluated and reflected.The results of the study found that Thematic Teaching can improve students' interest in Chinese learning,class participation,Chinese communicative competence and Culture perception,and provides new teaching models for the oral Chinese class of the Guangqi Winter Camp of Huaqiao University.
