Abstract/Summary:
With the improvement of the status of the Chinese mainland on the world economic stage,the total amount of foreign investment in Chinese mainland is increasing.In recent decades,many Taiwan enterprises have invested in the mainland in search of new development opportunities.Cross-cultural management is a problem that every overseas investment enterprise must face.Although there are many similarities between the cultures of Chinese mainland and Taiwan,due to different historical changes,the cultures of both sides have evolved into two subcultures belonging to the Culture of the Chinese nation,and their cross-cultural management has new characteristics and new requirements.First of all,this paper defines culture and subculture and introduces the current situation of cross-cultural management theory.However,there is still a lack of research on subculture management in Chinese mainland and Taiwan,especially related to the financial industry.Then,based on Hofstede’s theory of cultural dimension,this paper designs questionnaires,which are distributed,collected,sorted and analyzed among Taiwanese and mainland employees in C Bank.At the same time,in-depth interviews were conducted on several issues with serious sub-cultural differences,such as management style and management system,employee work attitude and loyalty,salary system,etc.,and the results were summarized and analyzed.Finally,through the application of the cultural coordination theory,the paper puts forward targeted and constructive solutions to the problems in the management system,value management localization,cultural innovation and other aspects of the mainland Taiwan-funded financial industry.The research shows that the sub-cultural differences faced by the Taiwan-funded financial industry in Chinese mainland are manifold and have seriously affected its daily management,thus further affecting the development of its internationalization.On the premise of correct understanding of these differences,it is imperative to find solutions to solve and use these differences.I hope this paper can provide reference for the management and development of Taiwan-funded financial industry.
