The Interpretation Report Of Shaanxi History Museum From The Perspective Of The Interpretive Theory

As China further opens to the outside world,more and more foreigners come to China to travel,live and study.Enhancing cultural self-confidence and promoting the excellent Chinese traditional culture has become the duty of every Chinese.As a treasure house of Chinese cultural heritage,the Shaanxi History Museum is an important window to show Chinese culture to foreigners.So the improvement of interpretation quality is supposed to be the most important thing.This is a consecutive interpreting report,describing an interpreting task in Shaanxi History Museum.The task was described in the first place and then the guiding theory,the Interpretive Theory was introduced.The Interpretive Theory holds that the interpreter should pursue the equivalence of the meaning or effect of the original text rather than language units and divides the interpreting process into three steps including comprehension,deverbalization,and reformulation,which is also called triangle model.The author selected some cases in the practice to analyze and reflect according to the Interpretive Theory.Regarding the problems in comprehension,deverbalization,and reformulation,the author summarizes three tactics including omission,addition,and explanation.Through analyzes to cases,the conclusion has been reached that interpreters need to collect enough background information,memorize the vocabulary in the glossary before the task,and accumulate cultural knowledge in their daily lives.In addition,to convey the sense of source language quickly and accurately,interpreters can strengthen the deverbalization capability through paraphrase exercises.Finally,the author hopes that the report can provide references and enlightenment for future cultural interpretation and make contributions to cross-cultural communication.
