A Report Of The Interpretation For The Customs Classification Training Under The Framework Of The Interpretive Theory

With the continuous expansion of China’s opening up to the outside world and the rapid development of import and export trade,the current import and export commodities have increased significantly both in quantity and category compared with the past,and the types of import and export commodities are diversified,novel and complicated.Under this background,Cai Niao Network Company held a customs commodity classification training on August 17,2021 to improve the comprehensive quality of the staff.The lecturer is Mr.Jin from Shanghai Customs College and conducts this training in Chinese,and the author acted as the interpreter.This interpretation practice involves very professional knowledge of customs commodity classification and knowledge in different commodity fields,so the content of interpretation is complex.The author analyzed the interpretation task and wrote this report under the framework of the interpretive theory.Since its birth,the interpretive theory has exerted a significant influence on the practice and research of interpretation.The triangular model of the interpretive theory divides the interpretation process into three stages: comprehension,deverbalization and re-expression,of which the second stage is the core.The author summarized and analyzed the difficulties encountered in the three different stages of the interpretation process,such as strong accents,the transformation of bilingual expressions and the different expression habits between Chinese and English,and put forward some methods and strategies that should be adopted in interpretation,such as faithfulness to the original information,simplification,extraction of essentials,overall smoothness and so on.Finally,the author put forward four suggestions on how to improve the interpretation quality of customs training under the guidance of the interpretive theory:get familiar with different accents,improve bilingual ability,accumulate cognitive knowledge and have more interpretation practice.After reviewing the literature,it is found that there are few studies on customs commodity classification training interpretation in China,especially in the combination of the interpretive theory and customs commodity classification training interpretation.From a practical point of view,the interpretation quality of customs commodity classification training directly affects the quality of customs commodity classification and the import and export of commodities,which shows that it is of great significance to improve the quality of interpretation in customs commodity classification training.Therefore,it is of certain theoretical significance and practical value to apply the interpretive theory to the interpretation of customs commodity classification.
