| Entrepreneurs are the main body in the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship and play a special role in the improvement of enterprise performance.Therefore,how entrepreneurs influence entrepreneurial performance has always been a hot topic in the field of entrepreneurship.The characteristics of entrepreneurs are considered to be the internal driving force for entrepreneurs to actively engage in innovative activities and achieve success,and also an important basis for which kind of people are more suitable for entrepreneurship and easier to succeed.However,the current research on entrepreneurs’ characteristics is mostly based on foreign research results,and there are few researches on entrepreneurs’ characteristics with Chinese characteristics.However,the construction of entrepreneurs’ characteristics in The Chinese context cannot be separated from the study of entrepreneurs’ characteristics in the Western context,nor from the inheritance and mining of traditional cultural resources,especially Confucian culture,for thousands of years.Therefore,in-depth research on Confucian cultural characteristics of entrepreneurs and grasp its impact on entrepreneurial performance can better guide entrepreneurial practice.This study focuses on the Confucian cultural characteristics of entrepreneurs and their impact on entrepreneurial performance.First of all,through the review of relevant literature at home and abroad,the concept of entrepreneur,new venture,entrepreneur characteristics and other concepts are defined,and the theoretical basis of entrepreneur characteristics,Confucian culture,grounded theory is explained,and the domestic and foreign research literature on entrepreneur characteristics,entrepreneurial performance and other aspects are reviewed.Secondly,through the field visits and interviews of 31 entrepreneurs of new enterprises in Jinan,Qingdao,Weifang and other cities of Shandong Province,we have obtained a lot of first-hand information.Based on the qualitative analysis of interview data based on grounded theory,the model of Confucian cultural traits of entrepreneurs is constructed by combining the research on Confucian culture and entrepreneurial traits.The Confucian cultural characteristics of entrepreneurs are divided into four dimensions: "benevolence"(love,faithfulness and harmony),"wisdom"(studious,resourceful and capricious),"courage"(fearless and resolute),and "tenacity "(perseverance and aggressive).Then,the author compares the four characteristics with those of entrepreneurs,and concludes that "benevolence" is the unique characteristic of Confucian entrepreneurs.Then,based on the qualitative research data of entrepreneurs and relevant literature,the hypothesis of the impact of "benevolence","wisdom","courage" and "fortitude" on entrepreneurial performance is proposed,and the impact model is established.Finally,the data of 428 entrepreneurs in Shandong province were collected by questionnaire survey,SPSS23.0 and AMOS23.0 were used for statistical analysis of the data,and the hypotheses proposed were verified.The empirical analysis results show that "benevolence","wisdom","courage" and "tenacity " have significant positive effects on the survival performance and growth performance of new ventures,and " tenacity " has the largest positive effect on survival performance,and "benevolence" has the largest positive effect on growth performance.According to the empirical results and the specific content of interviews with entrepreneurs,the following suggestions are put forward for entrepreneurs to improve their entrepreneurial performance:(1)entrepreneurs should focus on "benevolence" and cultivate their own moral quality;(2)Entrepreneurs should win by "wisdom",develop the habit of lifelong learning;(3)Entrepreneurs should take "courage" as the priority and cultivate the ability to take risks;(4)Entrepreneurs should take " tenacity " as the matter,strengthen the tough will. |
