Haizi’s Poetic Of Romanticism And Reception Studies

Haizi once tried to open up a new way of Chinese poetry,which was the writing of "great poems".The creating of Haizi began in the 1980s’ parnassus,and was gradually formed under the influence of western romantic poetry and philosophy.He devoted almost all his short poetic career to the idea of "great poems",but this idea gradually faded out of the readers’ vision after his sudden death.However,the short lyrical poems that he didn’t value during his lifetime gained many readers from the college to the public.There is a huge gap between Haizi’s poetic idea and readers’ reception,which is deeply related to romantic poetics and the philosophical background.This paper will start with Haizi’s romantic poetics and analyze the formation of this poetical idea.On the basis of this,I’ll tries to make an observation on the reception of Haizi’s poems,and to explore why there is a gap between Haizi’s poetic ideal and readers’ reception.This paper will be divided into three parts to discuss this issue.First of all,the research status of Haizi has become saturated,which needs to be sorted out and analyzed.This part will make a literature review from three aspects: the study of death,the study of "great poem" writing and the study of romantic poetics.We’ll find that the death of Haizi has greatly influenced the study of Haizi,and to some extent has obscured the real value of Haizi’s poetic ideal.Haizi’s ideal of poetics means romantic poetics,which is formed under the dual function of contemporary "misty poetry" and western romantic poetry;it embodied in the writing of "great poetry".Specifically,Haizi was influenced by the western romantic poetics early,which is manifested as the strong will of the poet in the poetry creation.Here in Haizi,poetry and poets are sublimated into a messianic existence.He tried to transform the personality of modern people and even the whole civilized world through poetry.Therefore,his ideal of "great poem" went beyond the "epic" writing in 1980 s.On the other hand,Haizi’s attitude towards romanticism is quite contradictory,and this complex attitude just implies a "structural dilemma" of romanticism in contemporary.Haizi’s grand poetics was weakened in the process of popular acceptance,and the strong will advocated by romanticism was replaced with "egoism".Haizi’s ideal of transforming human civilization has also been largely ignored and only mentioned by a few researchers.In the folk public,the implication of Haizi’s "myth" points to his "tragic" genius legend.Haizi and his poems are widely spread under the joint operation of business and culture,and become the most "valuable" poets in contemporary.From the perspective of the gap between Haizi’s romantic poetics and readers’ reception,romanticism is still in a developing complex form in the contemporary era,which deserves our close attention.
