Analysis Of Factors Influencing The Success Of Famous Chinese Medicine Practitioners In Guangdong Province

ObjectiveThis study aims to discover as comprehensively as possible the factors that have a positive influence on the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,to construct a system of influencing factors for the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,and to analyze the relative importance of the influencing factors and how the influencing factors specifically contribute to the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,from which the characteristics of the process of success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province can be found,and to provide a reference for the growth of TCM talents.MethodsFirstly,the framework of factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province was initially constructed by using literature analysis method and combining with the principles of constructing the framework of factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors.The Delphi method was then used to conduct 2 rounds of expert correspondence with 21 experts who have high academic attainments or experience working in the field of TCM,such as TCM clinical and TCM management,to screen and improve the initially constructed system of factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province.Subsequently,using the three-level coding method in the rooted theory analysis method,the interview data of 30 famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province in the video project "DA YI JING CHENG" LING NAN Famous TCM Doctors were coded and analyzed according to the filtered and perfected system of factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,from which the importance of different influencing factors was found.Then,we analyzed the connotation of the influencing factors in turn with the coding reference points,understood the specific facilitating effects of the influencing factors,and summarized the characteristics of the success process of famous Chinese medicine practitioners in Guangdong Province.Finally,based on the research findings and the real situation,relevant suggestions are put forward.ResultsFirst,on the basis of literature analysis,the framework of the system of factors influencing the success of famous Chinese medicine practitioners in Guangdong Province,which contains 2 primary factors,9 secondary factors,and 39 tertiary factors,was initially determined.The positive coefficient of experts in 2 rounds of expert correspondence was100%;the authority coefficient of experts was 0.7881.After 2 rounds of consultation,the coordination coefficients of expert opinions of secondary and tertiary influencing factors were 0.341 and 0.245,which were both improved compared with the first round;the mean values of each index were 4.00～5.00;the coefficients of variation were 0.04～0.17,and the scores all met the requirements.According to the experts’ opinions,after merging,modifying and adding the influencing factors,the final framework of the influencing factors system of Guangdong famous Chinese medicine practitioners’ success containing 2 primary factors,9 secondary factors and 41 tertiary factors was formed.After coding the interview data of 30 provincial famous TCM doctors at three levels with reference to the framework of the identified influencing factor system for the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,and combining the number of reference points,it was found that internal personal factors were relatively more important at the first level of influencing factors(372 reference points,accounting for 77.82%).Among the internal personal factors,clinical practice and learning focus were the main core factors for the success of famous TCM practitioners in Guangdong Province(214 reference points,accounting for 44.77%).Among the external influencing factors,learning under a teacher was the most influential factor(41 reference points,accounting for 8.58%).High medical ethics(31;6.49%),adherence to clinical thinking in TCM(26;5.44%),repeated sensory learning of classics(25;5.23%),inheriting the experience of several teachers(22;4.60%),and meeting good teachers(17;3.56%)contributed greatly to the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province.ConclusionThe factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province are connected and interact with each other,and can be analyzed as a whole system,and the system of factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province is holistic,related and open.The characteristics of the system are:(1)learning motivation is the source of vitality of the system;(2)The main factors and auxiliary factors in the system are clear: "learning focus","clinical evidence practice" and "learning from teachers" are the main factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province,and "emotional character","physical and mental health","cultural quality","opportunities","family factors" and "social factors" are the auxiliary factors influencing the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province;(3)The system is strong openness,with the development of technology,there will be more new factors to promote the success of famous TCM doctors in Guangdong Province in the future.Based on these findings,the following recommendations are proposed in this study to promote the success of TCM talents.(1)Motivation to learn medicine through witnessing efficacy(2)Mutual improvement of theoretical learning and clinical practice(3)Combination of institutional education and teacher training education to cultivate talents(4)Emphasis on the cultivation of comprehensive quality of TCM talents(5)Optimization of TCM cultural communication environment(6)Use of emerging technologies to help the development of talents.
