Objective:In this study, the association rule analysis and cluster analysis of k-means algorithm combined with regression model have been conducted through the TCM Inheritance Computing Platform on the TCM outpatient prescriptions and acupuncture point prescriptions of Mr.Wang Yigang for the treatment of peripheral facial palsy to deeply explore his clinical experience in this regard, summarize the rules of medication and the acupuncture-point selection by Mr.Wang in the treatment of peripheral facial palsy, and attempt to elaborate his academic thinking. Methods:The author has collected the data of 100 patients with peripheral facial palsy who were treated by Dr.Wang Yigang, the director of Chinese medicine at the outpatient department of Nanqiao Temple Branch,Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2018 to February 2021 and whose symptom onset did not exceed three months, including their TCM prescriptions and acupuncture-point-selection prescriptions;developed an Excel database with patients' prescription information and consultation information in four steps which was input into the TCM Inheritance Computing Platform V3.0;and aimed to mine the data on the prescriptions and acupuncture-point-selection patterns of Mr.Wang by utilizing the functions in statistics and data analysis of the very platform, and to summarize and condense the clinical evidence and patterns in treating peripheral facial palsy by Mr.Wang as a famous veteran TCM practitioner in conjunction with his academic thinking. Results:A total of 100 prescriptions for the treatment of patients in recovery from peripheral facial palsy were collected, including 211 prescriptions for oral-taken herbal decoction and 1369 prescriptions for acupuncture.A total of 124 Chinese herbal medicines were used in the prescriptions, and all the medicines was counted and listed in the order the use frequency, among which the top 10 medicines were notopterygium incisum, glycyrrhiza uralensis, folium isatidis, angelica sinensis, chuanxiong, bupleurum chinense, atractylodes lancea, radix astragali, radix paeoniae rubra, and radix paeoniae alba. The results demonstrated that the efficacy of herbal medicines(besides glycyrrhiza uralensis which has been adopted in all related prescriptions)in the prescriptions was mostly in the categories of relieving symptoms, resolving dampness, and clearing heat.By analyzing the pattern of their formulae, setting the degree of support at 63 and the degree of confidence at 0.9,we obtained 344 drug combinations involving 17 drugs,of which the two most frequent drug pairs were "notopterygium incisum and folium isatidis" and the three most frequent drug pairs were"notopterygium incisum, folium isatidis and angelica sinensis".The three core combinations in the prescriptions were summarized through cluster analysis as follows:Group 1:"notopterygium incisum, folium isatidis, angelica sinensis, chuanxiong, and bupleurum chinense",Group 2:"notopterygium incisum, chuanxiong, angelica sinensis, atractylodes lancea, and pinellia ternata",and Group 3:"chuanxiong,angelica sinensis, bupleurum chinense, atractylodes lancea and notopterygium incisum".Based on the results of association analysis and cluster analysis, the core combinations in Mr.Wang Yigang's prescriptions for the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis ware summarized as:notopterygium incisum, chuanxiong, folium isatidis, radix paeoniae alba, angelica sinensis, radix paeoniae rubra, bupleurum chinense, atractylodes lancea, rhizome of cyrtomium, nepeta and radix sileris.A total of 56 acupoints involved in the acupuncture prescriptions collected were analyzed, and then listed in the order of the occurrence frequency in prescriptions, and it was concluded that the top ten high-frequency acupoints were:Miandong(used by Mr.Wang Yigang),Yifeng TE17,Hegu L14,scalp three needles(known as BaihuiDU20 and both Qianshencong EX-HN 1 and Houshencong EX-HN1),Jiache ST6,Temple,Waiguan TE5,Yingxiang L120,Chengjiang CV24,and Dicang ST4.The results show that Mr.Wang chose the acupuncture points mainly from the three Yang meridians.By analysing their grouping patterns, setting the number for the support degree of 411 and a support degree of 0.9 to obtain 824 acupuncture-point groups, involving 17 acupuncture points,of which the two most frequent acupuncture-point groups were "Miandong and Hegu L14" and the three most frequent acupuncture point groups were"Miandong,Hegu L14 and scalp three needles".The core combinations in the prescriptions were summarized by cluster analysis as follows:Group 1:"Miandong,Yifeng TE17,Hegu L14,Taiyang and scalp three needles",Group 2:"Miandong,Hegu L14,Yifeng TE17,scalp three needles and Fengchi GB 20",and Group 3:"Miandong,Yifeng TE17,Jiache ST4,three main acupuncture points on the head and Hegu L14".Based on the results of the association analysis and cluster analysis, the core acupuncture points selected by Mr.Wang Yigang for the treatment of peripheral facial palsy were concluded as follows:Miandong,Yifeng TE17,scalp three needles,Fengchi GB 20,Chengjiang CV24,Hegu L14,Jiache ST4,Yingxiang L120,Temple,Waiguan TE5,Yangbai GB14,and Dicang ST4.Conclusion:Mr.Wang Yigang considers that the most important treatment of peripheral facial paralysis is the acute stage.the main pathogenesis of this disease is exogenous wind-evil and damp-toxin,with the focus on the deep toxic pathogens and with the disease in the three Yang meridians and tendons. In the aspect of prescriptions, pungent Compatible with bitter useing Qufeng JieDu Huoluo decoction as the main prescription to aim at three Yang meridians to disperse the toxin of Taiyang wind, reconcile the toxin of Shaoyang depression, and clear away the toxin of Yangming dampness and accompanied by aromatic products in the acute stage. In the recovery stage,Buzhong Yiqi Decoction was the main prescription, while the remaining toxin was not cleared steping to cleaning it.And according to the syndrome differentiation, use things to promote qi and blood circulation, promote Yang, nourish yin or YangIn the aspect of acupuncture,"MianDongYifeng" acupoints herapy was the main group, emphasizing early intervention in acute stage, less and shallow needling, and distal point selection. In the recovery stage, the stimulation was gradually strengthened, acupoints were mostly selected in the three yang meridians, combined with"scalp three needles" and "Anmian" to regulate the brain function and focuses on "treating the mind".Add Mr.Wang's characteristic technique"motional needle retention ".
