Objective: Based on the theory of "seinuse",this study used Sijunzi soup to treat constipation in children.Compared with the efficacy of bifidobacteria,we observed the changes of clinical symptoms before and after treatment and the recurrence after follow-up,and explored the overall efficacy of Sijunzi soup in treating constipation in children with spleen deficiency and weakness. Methods: All the cases in this study were collected from children treated by Professor Yang Kun of pediatric Outpatient Department of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a randomized controlled trial of 30 cases in each group. The observation group took "four gentlemen soup with flavor",and the control group orally took "bifidobacterium quadruple live bacteria tablets"(silliankang). She was administered for four weeks and followed up for 1 month after completion of treatment.Disease changes and recurrence before and after treatment were recorded in both groups, and the statistical study was performed with version SPSS27.0.Results: After four weeks of treatment,in terms of voluntary defecation, the SBM response rate was 82.8% in the observation group and 57.10% in the control group, with no statistically significant difference(P>0.05),indicating that both groups were able to promote voluntary defecation.Comparing the changes in the efficacy of the two groups of children after SBM before and after treatment, the total effective rate of children in the observation group was 96.60% after treatment;the total effective rate of children in the control group was 75% after treatment. The difference was statistically significant at P<0.05,and the observation group was better than the control group in terms of overall TCM efficacy. In terms of symptom improvement, there was a certain degree of decrease in the primary, secondary and total symptom scores in the observation group compared with the control group before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant by rank sum test(P<0.05).When comparing between groups in terms of TCM single symptom points, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05)when comparing the two groups in terms of improvement in stool properties, frequency of defecation, defecation, incomplete defecation,post-defecation fatigue, and incomplete defecation,i.e.,the observation group was better than the control group in the above aspects;however,no significant difference was seen when comparing the two groups in terms of change in defecation time(P>0.05).After 1 month of follow-up,among the effective cases, there were 6recurrences in the observation group, with a recurrence rate of 21%,and 11 recurrences in the control group, with a recurrence rate of 55%,and the difference was statistically significant by statistical test P<0.05.In the whole observation study,1 case was lost in the observation group,1 case was shed in the control group and 1case was rejected, the number of shed and lost was less than 10%,so it did not affect the observation study. Conclusion: Four gentleman soup and bifidobacterium tetrad live tablets have certain efficacy in treating constipation in children(spleen deficiency and weak type),but four gentleman soup is better than bifidobacterium tetrad live tablets in improving TCM syndrome, which is more effective, safe and reliable, has no obvious adverse reactions, and has good long-term curative effect, which is worth promoting.
