Objective:By exploring the effects of different postoperative voice rest time combined with voice training on the voice function in patients with unilateral small polyp of vocal cord, the optimal time of postoperative voice rest in patients with unilateral small polyp of vocal cord is discussed,so as to guide the start time of postoperative voice training and provide better guidance for clinical treatment. Methods:Screening 120 patients with unilateral small polyp of vocal cord in the inpatient department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, who were scheduled to undergo surgery, provided voice hygiene education before surgery, guided patients in voice training methods, and improved relevant voice acoustic analysis, including fundamental frequency perturbation(Jitter),amplitude perturbation(Shimmer),maximum phonation time(MPT),dysphonia severity index(DSI),roughness, breathiness, hoarseness(RBH),voice handicap index(VHI),etc. After surgery, patients were randomly divided into three groups with 40 patients in each group(Group A: 3 days of postoperative voice rest group,Group B: 7 days of postoperative voice rest group,Group C: 2 weeks of postoperative voice rest group). There was no statistical difference in the acoustic parameters in each group before surgery. On the basis of routine treatment(health education, surgical treatment, and medication),the patients in the three groups received absolute voice rest for 3 days,7 days, and 2 weeks after surgery. At the end of the voice rest, they were given voice training for 8 weeks.Voice acoustic analysis was performed at the time of reexamination at 3 and 6 months after surgery.SPSS26.0 statistical software was used to analyze the differences in acoustic parameters among groups, and to compare them with preoperative acoustic parameters.Results:(1)Among the 120 cases included in this study,a total of 105 patients had complete case data and complied with treatment throughout the entire process, and a total of 15 patients withdrew. The withdrawal rates of the three groups were 7.5% in Group A,12.5% in Group B,and 17.5% in Group C.The withdrawal rates of the three groups were relatively low,so the samples that ultimately completed the trial were used for analysis.(2)At 3 and 6 months after surgery,Jitter,Shimmer,VHI,and subjective auditory perception evaluation parameters RBH in each group decreased significantly after voice training, while MPT and DSI increased significantly, with a statistically significant difference compared to before surgery(P < 0.05).(3)Three months after surgery, the three groups were compared in pairs. The Jitter,Shimmer,RBH,and VHI values in Group A were lower than those in Group B,and the MPT,and DSI values were higher than those in Group B,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).The Shimmer,RBH,VHI values in Group A were lower than those in Group C,and the MPT,and DSI values were higher than those in Group C,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).The DSI values in Group B were higher than those in Group C,and the VHI values were lower than those in Group C,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).The other indicators had no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05).(4)Six months after surgery,a pairwise comparison was conducted among the three groups. The Jitter,Shimmer,RBH,and VHI values in Group A were lower than those in Group B,while the MPT,and DSI values were higher than those in Group B,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).The Shimmer,RBH,and VHI values in Group A were lower than those in Group C,and the MPT,and DSI values were higher than those in Group C,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).The DSI values in Group B were higher than those in Group C,and the VHI values were lower than those in Group C,with a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).There was no statistical difference in the other indicators(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)On the basis of routine treatment, voice rest combined with voice training can improve the voice quality of the patients with unilateral small polyp of vocal cord.(2)Patients with unilateral small polyp of vocal cord can take 3 days voice rest combined with voice training after surgery, which is more conducive to the healing of vocal cord wound and the recovery of vocal function.
