ObjectiveIn this study,by analyzing the intensity and frequency of symptoms in patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapy, the types of symptom groups and their internal composition were determined. To explore the effects of mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy on symptom groups, anxiety, depression and quality of life of patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapy,so as to provide effective reference for medical staff symptom management,so as to reduce the pain of patients and improve the quality of life of patients.Methods1.A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 228 patients with ovarian cancer who were hospitalized with chemotherapy in the gynecology department of three departments of a Grade-III Class A general hospital from February 2017 to July 2017,and the investigation content was the general information of the patients. The M.D.Anderson Symptom Inventory MDASI and the Symptom Module specific for Ovarian Cancer TSM-OC,Exploratory factor analysis was used to analyze the symptom groups and characteristics of patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapy.2.A total of 100 patients with ovarian cancer who were hospitalized for chemotherapy in the gynecology department of a general hospital of Grade III and Grade A from September 2017 to June 2018 were selected as the study objects by convenience sampling method, and they were grouped according to ward areas, with ward 1 as the intervention group(n=50)and ward 2 as the control group(n=50).The control group received routine health education, and the intervention group received mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy on the basis of routine health education. The two groups conducted questionnaires on ovarian cancer chemotherapy patients before and after the intervention for 8 weeks, respectively. To investigate the patient’s general profile, the cluster of symptoms associated with chemotherapy in ovarian cancer patients, anxiety and depression, and quality of life,Survey tools included patient general data,The M.D.Anderson Symptom Inventory MDASI,and The Symptom Module specific for Ovarian Cancer TSM-OC,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),Ovarian Cancer Quality of Life Scale(Function Alassessment)of Cancer Therapy-ovary Cancer FACT-O).SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results1.Symptom groups and characteristics of patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapyOvarian cancer patients during chemotherapy incidence in the top three symptoms:hair loss, poor appetite, fatigue.Five factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, and the cumulative variance contribution rate reached 72.27%.According to the characteristics of symptoms contained in each factor and the literature review at home and abroad, the five factors were named peripheral nerve symptom group(forgetfulness, dry mouth, numbness, hair loss).Perimenopausal symptoms(hot flashes, night sweats, sexual difficulties, irritability, reduced femininity),pain related symptoms(pain, fatigue, restless sleep, lethargy),psychological symptoms(distress, sadness, anxiety),gastrointestinal symptoms(nausea, poor appetite,vomiting,bloating).2.Intervention effect of mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy(1)Compared the general data of the two groups,it was found that the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05),and the data between the two groups were comparable.(2)The symptom groups of the two groups were compared after intervention. The scores of perimenopausal symptom groups [12.00(10.00,13.00)],pain-related symptom groups [10.00(9.50,11.50)] and psychological symptom groups were [6.00(6.00,9.00)]and gastrointestinal symptom group score [12.00(10.00,13.00)] were lower than that of control group [13.00(11.00,15.00),11.00(10.00,14.00),8.00(7.00,10.00),13.00(11.00,14.00)] The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The score of peripheral nerve symptom group in the intervention group [12.00(10.00,14.00)] was lower than that in the control group [12.00(10.00,14.00)],but the difference was small and the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).After intervention, patients in the intervention group scored general activity [2.00(2.00,3.00)],mood [3.00(3.00,3.00)],work [3.00(3.00,3.00)],relationship with others [2.00(2.00,3.00)],walking [1.00(0.00,1.00)],life emotion score [2.00(2.00,3.00)] was lower than that of control group [3.00(2.00,3.00),4.00(3.00,4.00),3.00(3.00,3.00),3.00(2.00,3.00),1.00(1.00,1.00),3.00(2.00,3.00)],the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(3)Comparison of anxiety and depression scores between the two groups showed that anxiety score in the intervention group [57.00(56.00,59.00)] was lower than that in the control group [58.00(57.00,62.00)],and the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).The depression score in the intervention group [58.00(56.00,61.00)] was lower than that in the control group [61.00(57.00,63.00)],and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(4)Comparison of patients’ quality of life between the two groups: physiological status score [16.00(15.00,17.00)],social/family score [17.00(16.00,18.00)],emotional status score [14.00(13.00,15.00)],functional status score [15.00(14.00,15.00)],ovarian cancer specific status score [26.00(25.00,27.00)] 5 dimensions and total score of ovarian cancer quality of life [88.00(86.00,90.50)] were higher than those of control group[16.00(15.00,16.00),16.00(16.00,17.00),13.00(13.00,14.00),14.00(14.00,15.00),25.00(24.00,26.00),84.00(83.00,87.00)],the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion1.Patients with ovarian cancer undergoing chemotherapy formed 5 symptom groups, which were peripheral nerve symptom group, perimenopausal symptom group,pain-related symptom group, psychological symptom group and gastrointestinal symptom group.2.Mind-based decompression therapy can relieve perimenopausal symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms,pain-related symptoms, psychological symptoms, reduce anxiety and depression, improve the quality of life of patients with ovarian cancer chemotherapy, but the effect is not good in peripheral nerve symptoms.
