Objective : To understand the present situation of self-efficacy and mindfulness in patients with lung cancer chemotherapy and to explore the social and demographic factors related to the level of self-efficacy and mindfulness of lung cancer patients. To observe the changes of self-efficacy and mindfulness during patients chemotherapy. To explore the effect and significance of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction therapy on improving self-efficacy and mindfulness level of lung cancer patients during chemotherapy. Methods:One hundred patients with lung cancer received chemotherapy for the first time in a Grade 3A hospital were randomly divided into intervention group(n = 50)and control group(n = 50).Both groups received routine nursing intervention. The intervention group also received 8 weeks of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction therapy. The self-efficacy and mindfulness level of the two groups were evaluated on the first day of the first, third and fifth use of chemotherapeutic drugs.Self-efficacy scale is used for self-efficacy level and mindful attention awareness scale is used for mindfulness level. Results : According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, this study intervened 100 patients who met the criteria in a third Class A hospital.97 effective samples of all the results were evaluated and the completion rate was97 percent. There was no statistical difference between the two groups before intervention. The single factor analysis of variance showed that there was interaction between the self-efficacy level and the education level of the patients, the average monthly income of the family, the current condition of physical exercise and the reimbursement method(P < 0.05).There wasinteraction between mindfulness level and gender, reimbursement method, smoking or not(P <0.05).The self-efficacy level of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group at the third evaluation(P <0.001),but the mindfulness level was higher than that of the control group at the second and third evaluation(P <0.05).The level of self-efficacy in the control group was decreased with the duration of intervention(P <0.05),and the mindfulness level was not statistically significant(P >0.05).The level of self-efficacy and mindfulness in the intervention group increased with the prolonged intervention time(P <0.001).In the self-efficacy scale, there was statistical difference between the two groups in the dimension of self-decompression and positive attitude with the prolongation of intervention time(P <0.05).The scores of positive attitude in the control group decreased with the prolongation of intervention time(P<0.05).The scores of self-decompression and positive attitude in the intervention group increased with the time of intervention(P <0.05).Conclusion:1.High education, high income, regular physical exercise and medical insurance reimbursement patients' self-efficacy level is relatively high.2.Male patients,Medicare reimbursements patients and current smokers had relatively high level of mindfulness.3.Mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy can effectively improve the level of self-efficacy and mindfulness of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy. The self-decompression and positive attitude dimension in the self-efficacy level were improved. However, the dimension of self-decision has not changed significantly.
