Purpose:To value the clinical impact of heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling on old ankle sprain.and then it is to provide a new plan for the future therapy of old ankle sprain. Methods:We collected 60 patients, who have old ankle sprain and have seed doctor of Jiangxi Hospital of Chinese Medicine between December 2021 and December 2022.We have patients sign informed consent forms. The patients were casually separate into 2 groups:tentative group, which is heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling group;and management group, which is massage united with needling group. Then all patients were observed for 4 weeks, and scored after 2 weeks and 4 weeks, respectively,to observe the treatment results.Outcome measures:②Visual analog scale(VAS);②American Foot and Ankle Association Ankle and Hindfoot Function Score(AOFAS);③Range of motion score(ROM);④Evaluation of syndrome efficacy. We need to keep track of whether there are shedding events during treatment. And we have to document the adverse events that occured We used statistical software SPSS26.0 for data analysis and statistics from our clinical observations. The outcomes of the two groups after treatment were then evaluated based on the data.Results:1.Comparison of baseline data between the two groupsCompared the two groups of patients in age, gender, affected side, process of disease and each observation index before treatment. These two groups refer to the experimental group(heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling)and the control group(rubdown united with needling). After data statistics,we found that the baseline data of each group were good, with no statistical significance(P>0.05),which could be compared.2.Comparison of VAS scoresAfter 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment,VAS scores were found to show a continuous downward trend comared with those before treatment.VAS data were analyzed in each time period, and the differences were statistically available. But the fall off extent of heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling was more obvious than that of rubdown united with needling group. It is showed that the rubdown united with needling group was meaningfully lower to the heat-sensitive moxibustion united needling group in relieving pain.3.Comparison of AOFAS scoresAfter 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment,These patients showed improvement in pain, function, and alignment compared to before treatment-The differences of patients’ scores in each time period were statistically remarkable(p<0.05).However,the scores of the two groups were different. The heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling aggrandize meaningfully contraposit with the rubdown combined with needling in terms of the overall trend. These scores also indicated that heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with acupuncture group was superior in AOFAS score in improving old ankle sprains.4.Comparison of ROM scoresAfter 2 weeks and 4 weeks of treatment, found that both groups had improved range of motion after 2 weeks or 4 weeks compared to before treatment. The differences of patients’ scores in each time period were statistically available(p<0.05).However,the upward trend of the score of the rubdown combined with needling group was lower than that of the heat-sensitive moxibustion united needling group, which means that heat-sensitive moxibustion combined acupuncture is better in ROM.5.Curative effect evaluationAfter all therapy, the total valid rate of heat-sensitive moxibustion united with needling was 93.33%,and that of rubdown united with needling was 76.67%.The statistical results of the two groups showed that the difference was statistically available(P<0.05).This also shows that in terms of overall efficacy,heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with needling is better than massage combined with needling.Conclusion:1.In the therapy of old ankle sprain, heat sensitive moxibustion united with needling and rubdown combined with needling are.effective.2.This also shows that in terms of overall efficacy,heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with needling is better than massage combined with needling,so this study also provides a reference for the clinical treatment of old ankle sprains.
