Objective:By comparing the difference of curative effect between heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with massage and mometasone furoate nasal spray in the treatment of children with phlegm coagulation stasis type adenoidal hypertrophy, the purpose is to explore the effectiveness of heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with massage in the treatment of children with phlegm coagulation stasis type adenoidal hypertrophy, and to provide children with safe and effective pure external treatment. Methods:From December 2021 to November 2022,60 children diagnosed with adenoid hypertrophy who met the inclusion criteria and attended the thermal moxibustion department, paediatric outpatient and inpatient departments of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were divided into a test group and a control group of 30 cases each according to the random number table method. The test group was treated with thermal moxibustion combined with massage once a day, with a break every 6 days;the control group was treated with mometasone furoate nasal spray once a day. Both groups of children were treated for 6 weeks and followed up4 weeks after discontinuation of treatment. All observation indicators before, after treatment and after follow-up were recorded respectively(main observation indicators: nasal congestion, sleep snoring, mouth breathing three main symptom scores;secondary observation indicators:secondary symptom score;adenoid A/N value;OSA-18 quality of life score). The clinical data of the two groups of trials were analyzed and processed by SPSS26.0 software. Results:A total of 60 children with phlegm coagulation stasis type adenoidal hypertrophy were included in this study. There were no drop-out children in the two groups during the treatment, and 60 samples were finally completed.1.Intra-group comparison after treatment: the primary symptom score(nasal congestion, open mouth breathing and sleep snoring),secondary symptom score, quality of life and A/N values of the children in both groups improved after treatment compared to those before treatment(P<0.05),which was statistically significant.2.Comparison between groups after treatment: the main symptoms in the two groups were statistically significant in nasal congestion and sleep snoring(P<0.05),but not in open mouth breathing(P>0.05);the secondary symptoms and A/N values were not statistically significant in the two groups(P>0.05);the difference in OSA-18 scale scores was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Intra-group comparison after follow-up: the main symptoms, sec ondary symptoms, quality of life and A/N value of children in the tes t group were significantly different from those aftertreatment(P<0.05):the differences in nasal congestion,open-mouth breathing, seconda ry symptoms,A/N values and quality of life of children in the contro l group were not statistically significant after follow-up compared w ith 6 weeks after treatment(P>0.05),while sleep snoring was statisti cally significant compared with those after treatment(P<0.05).4.Comparison between groups after follow-up: there was significant difference between the two groups in the main symptom score, secondary symptom score,A/N value and OSA-18 score(P<0.05).5.Comparison of clinical efficacy: After treatment, there were 28 effective cases in the experimental group, with a total effective rate of 93.33%.There were 22 effective cases in the control group, with a total effective rate of 73.33%.The total effective rate between the two groups was P<0.05,and the difference was statistically significant; After follow-up,the total effective rate of the experimental group was 90.00%,while the total effective rate of the control group was 66.67%.The difference in total effective rates between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).6.Adverse reactions: no adverse reactions were observed in the two groups of children during treatment.Conclusion:1.Both heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with massage and mometasone furoate nasal spray can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of children with phlegm coagulation stasis type adenoidal hypertrophy and improve their quality of life;2.The clinical efficacy of thermal moxibustion combined with massage for phlegm coagulation stasis type adenoidal hypertrophy is superior to that of mometasone furoate nasal spray, and the long-term effect is considerable;3.In the process of treating children with heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with massage,no adverse reactions were found, which was worthy of clinical promotion.
