Purpose: The data mining tool was used to sort out and excavate the medication rules of chief physician Hu Gang, academic leader of the Department of spleen and stomach in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Hospital Of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of epigastric pain. The data analysis and mining were carried out on the clinical medical case of Chief physician Hu,so as to deeply understand the medication rules of chief physician Hu’s prescription, analyze the compatibility of common drugs used by chief physician Hu in the treatment of epigastric pain, and explore the potential drug compatibility. To better inherit and develop the academic thought and clinical experience of traditional Chinese medicine, carry forward the medicine of the motherland, and contribute to the development of the medical cause of the motherland. Methods: Cases of patients diagnosed with epigastric pain during Director Hu’s visits to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Hospital Of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2021 to September 2022 were collected. The collected data was recorded in Excel to establish the epigastric pain database.Statistical tools were used to make statistical analysis of patients’ age, gender, symptoms, tongue and pulse as well as syndrome types in medical records, etc.,to find out the pathogenesis of epigastric pain. The frequency of use of each drug in the medical record, the normalization of sex and taste were analyzed, and the medication rules of Director Hu in the diagnosis and treatment of epigastric pain were summarized. Results: 1.This study collected 193 cases of epigastric pain medical records.Through the analysis of basic data,it was found that female patients accounted for 60.62% of the total number of patients with epigastric pain between 50 and 59 years old accounted for 29.02% of the total number of cases.2.Patients with epigastric pain are accompanied by symptoms including fullness of stomach, belching, acid regurgitation, constipation, loose stools, bitter mouth, dry mouth,etc.3.The analysis of the patient’s tongue image showed that the tongue was mainly characterized by light red tongue and thin white coat.Pulse analysis showed that the main pulse was the concurrent pulse, including thin smooth pulse, smooth pulse string, pulse number, thin sinking pulse,etc.4.In the distribution of syndrome types, spleen and stomach deficiency cold was the main one, followed by liver and stomach disharmony.5.122 traditional Chinese medicines were involved in this study, with a total of 3632 drug frequencies. The top 20 Chinese medicines with drug frequency included licorice, pinellia pinellia,Radix paeoniae,Codonopsis cocos, poria, bupleurum, dried ginger,Coptis chinensis,Rhizoma atractylodes, jujube, tangerine peel, ligusticum ligusticum,Rhizoma mongolicum,Fructus aurantii, scutellaria, cassia twig,Fructus aurantii and ginger.According to the classification of drug flavor, the use frequency of warm drugs was the highest in the "four Qi".In the aspect of "five tastes",the frequency of use of spicy drugs was the highest. In the aspect of "return to the meridian",the highest frequency is the spleen meridian.6.The drug combinations obtained by association rule analysis were: dried ginger and licorice;Codonopsis Radix-Licorice;Poria cocos-Licorice;Paeony-Licorice.7.According to the clustering results, three potential epigastric pain treatment prescriptions were obtained: C1:licorice,pinellia pinellia,Paeonia lactis, codonopsis codonopsis, poria codonopsis, bupleurum, dried ginger,Coptis coptidis,Rhizoma atractyloides, jujube, tangerine peel, ligusticum ligusticum,Rhizoma coptidis,Radix amabilis and radix amabilis.C2: Magnolia officinalis,Fructus aurantii, gardenia,Angelica, alisma alisma;C3: Wuzhuyu,Jiuxiang,Wumei,Phellodendron phellodendron, sour jujube kernel.8,core drugs include: Paeony,licorice,coptis.9.According to factor analysis, six drug groups were obtained, which were F1: pinellia pinellia, jujube, ligusticum Chuanxiong,Fructus aurantii and Fructus aurantii;F2: Coptis coptidis,Tangerine peel,Rhizome, sand kernel, wood fragrance,ginger;F3: Paeony,bupleurum;F4: Poria cocos, dried ginger and atractylodes atractylodes;F5: Scutellaria scutellaria, cassia branch;F6: Licorice and codonopsis.Conclusion:(1)The most common syndrome type of epigastric pain is mainly deficiency syndrome, and deficiency tonic drugs are mainly used in treatment. In addition, drugs such as regulating qi,reducing phlegm and promoting blood circulation should be added according to syndrome differentiation analysis.(2)Radix paeoniae alba,Radix glycyrrhiza and Coptis were the core drugs for the treatment of epigastric pain by Director Hu;(3)Based on data mining tools, the law of drug formulation can be objectively analyzed from multiple perspectives, which is conducive to the inheritance of academic thoughts of famous old Chinese medicine.
