Analysis Of Serum Total Bile Acid And Uric Acid Levels In Patients With Ulcerative Colitis

Objective:To study the serum levels of total bile acid and uric acid in patients with ulcerative colitis(UC),and to explore their relationship with the severity of the disease in patients with ulcerative colitis.Methods:A total of 112 UC patients(observation group)and 112 health examination subjects(control group)in our department from January 2019 to January 2022 were included in this study.They were grouped by age,disease severity,and disease activity.All subjects received serum total bile acids,interleukin-6(IL-6),IL-1 β And TNF-α testing.The differences in each index between patients with UC and healthy individuals,in different degrees of illness and in patients with active UC were compared,and the correlations between each index were analyzed.Results:Serum total bile acids in UC patients were lower than those in healthy subjects,and the levels of UA,IL-6,IL-1β and TNF-α were higher than those in healthy subjects.The decreased levels of uric acid,IL-6,IL-1β,and TNF-α increased.There is a certain difference in data comparison(P<0.05),which is statistically significant;for patients with ulcerative colitis in active stage,the level of total bile acid is lower than that in patients with ulcerative colitis in remission stage,and uric acid,IL-6,IL-1β and TNF-α were significantly higher,and there were differences in the data comparison(P<0.05),which was statistically significant.Conclusion:An inverse relationship was found between TBA and IL-6,IL-1 β,TNF-α,disease activity and severity;There was a positive correlation between UA and IL-6,IL-1 β,TNF-α,disease activity and severity;With increasing age,severity and activity,patients will have lower total serum bile acids and higher uric acid.Both are associated with UC and can be considered as an adjunct to UC diagnosis or treatment.
