| Objective:To investigate the current situation of intrinsic capacity and frailty of rural elderly people in a township of Yushu city, and to analyze the influencing factors of intrinsic capacity in order to provide a reference basis for the assessment method of intrinsic capacity of rural elderly people and to improve the current situation of intrinsic of intrinsic capacity of rural elderly people and to improve the current situation of intrinsic capacity Method:This was a cross-sectional study in which 400 elderly people aged 60 years and above, who were long-term residents of Qingding Township,Yushu City, were selected for the study, and a random sampling method with age as a stratification factor was used to select a total of 400 elderly people for a face-to-face survey using an assessment tool for intrinsic capacity and frailty.General demographic and sociological information and health status-related information questionnaire,Short Physical Performance Battery(SPBB),Mini-Nutritional Assessment Short Form(MNA-SF),Geriatric Depression Scale-15(GDS-15),Mini Cognitive Testing(mini-Cog),Self-Assessment of Visual Acuity,Hearing Status and Fried frailty phenotype were used to assess the current status of intrinsic capacity and factors affecting rural elderly and The current status of frailty,two-person data entry and analysis were performed by applying Questionnaire Star and IBM SPSS27.0 software. The measurement data were first tested for normality, and if they conformed to normal distribution, they were expressed as mean ± standard deviation and subjected to t-test,otherwise they were expressed as median(inter quartile range)and subjected to rank sum test;the count data were expressed as number of cases(percentage)and subjected to chi-square test.A stepwise method was used to perform a multifactorial logistic regression of factors influencing the intrinsic capacity of older adults with an inclusion criterion of 0.05 and an exclusion criterion of 0.10.Forest plots of the multifactorial results were drawn using R4.1.0.Differences were considered statistically significant at a P value <0.05.Result:In this study,408 elderly people were included as subjects, and after excluding the unqualified data,400 elderly people, aged between 60 and 96 years(mean 71.54 ± 7.24years),219 women(54.8% of the total)and 181 men(45.2% of the total)were finally selected. The current status of intrinsic capacity: 159(39.7%)elderly people with good intrinsic capacity(normal items ≥ 4);241(60.3%)elderly people with poor intrinsic capacity(normal items < 4);the current status of frailty of rural elderly people: 115(28.7% of the total)were not frail;247(61.8% of the total)were pre-frail;38(9.5% of the total)were frail 9.5% of the total. The results of one-way logistic regression analysis showed that: gender, age, height, weight, grip strength,BMI,calf circumference, education, drinking habits, marital status, coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pulmonary heart disease, type of medication taken, and mood the above variables were statistically different(P < 0.05),and multi-factor logistic regression analysis using stepwise method showed that: BMI(OR= 0.871,95% CI:0.811-40.935,P<0.001),grip strength(OR=0.894,95% CI: 0.863-0.926,P<0.001),education(elementary school group: OR=0.462,95% CI: 0.260-0.819,P=0.008;middle school and above group: OR=0.398(95% CI: 0.191-0.831,P=0.014),type of medication taken(1 group: OR=2.069,95% CI: 1.142-3.749,P=0.017;3 and more groups: OR=2.061,95% CI: 1.032-4.118,P=0.041),mood(OR=2.992,95% CI: 1.070-8.368,P=0.037)were influential factors in the intrinsic capacity of rural elderly. Conclusion:In the rural elderly population in Qingding Township,Yushu City, the level of intrinsic capacity was slightly lower than that of the urban elderly;the frail population was smaller and the pre-frail population was slightly higher compared with the urban elderly;grip strength, education, mood, and type of medication taken were the influencing factors of intrinsic capacity. |
