Professor Wang Tan’s Experience Summary On Treating Chronic Cough From "Spleen And Kidney Deficiency Cold,heart And Stomach Fire Reversal"

Objective:This project is based on the systematic theory of chronic cough treatment formed by Professor Wang Tan’s s clinical practice over the years,and conducts statistical analysis on chronic cough cases of "spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse"syndrome.It summarizes and induces Professor Wang Tan’s experience of treating chronic cough from the pathogenesis of "spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse "syndrome,and explores its principles,prescriptions and significance.It inherits Professor Wang Tan’s clinical experience and academic thoughts on treating chronic cough,hoping to provide more support and reference for clinical treatment of chronic cough.Methods:Collect Professor Wang Tan’s outpatient treatment of "spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse" syndrome chronic cough cases from January 2020 to December 2022,use Microsoft Excel 2019 software for statistical analysis to obtain the frequency,qi,taste and meridian of common prescriptions and subtracting drugs Detailed data information,summarize Professor Wang Tan’s treatment of "spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse" syndrome chronic cough with principles,methods and prescriptions,and summarize Professor Wang Tan’s clinical experience in treating chronic cough from spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse".Results:A statistical analysis of 314 cases of chronic cough treated by Microsoft Excel 2019 software was performed on the collected cases.It was found that Professor Wang Tan treated patients with chronic cough from "spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse" clinically with his own prescription Qingxin Zhi Cough Soup as the basic prescription for tailored treatment.The 314 medical records involved 110 flavors of Chinese medicine,mostly tonifying deficiency medicine,warming interior medicine,clearing heat medicine,etc.On the analysis of adding and subtracting drugs of commonly used prescriptions,there were a total of 99 flavors,with a total frequency of 1310 times.The highest frequency of use was warming drugs,followed by neutral drugs,cold drugs,slightly cold drugs,slightly warm drugs;on the analysis of drug flavors,spicy drugs had the highest frequency of use,followed by sweet and bitter drugs.The added and subtracted drugs mostly belong to the lung,spleen,kidney,heart,liver and stomach meridians,which are consistent with the disease location from"spleen and kidney deficiency cold,heart and stomach fire inverse" for treating chronic cough.Conclusion:Professor Wang Tan treats chronic cough with "deficiency of the spleen and kidney and coldness of the heart and stomach" by "warming the spleen and kidney and clearing the fire in the heart and stomach" and uses the Rizhong Pill as the base formula to formulate his own formula to "clear the heart and stop cough".The basic formula is "Clear the Heart and Relieve Cough".According to the changes in the pathological mechanism,he flexibly added and subtracted drugs,using both cold and warmth,and used a combination of chemistry to help Yang and stop coughing,as well as to resolve phlegm,calm asthma,induce diuresis,and activate blood circulation to remove blood stasis.It implements the therapeutic features of TCM’s discriminatory treatment and holistic concept.Through statistical analysis of clinical data,this paper clearly demonstrates the additive and subtractive features of this formula,which reflects Professor Wang Tan’s academic thought on discriminatory treatment of chronic cough with "deficiency and coldness of the spleen and kidney and fire reversal in the heart and stomach".
