Treatment Of Liver Depression And Spleen Deficiency Type Diarrhea After Chemotherapy For Colorectal Cancer With Shutiao Anti-diarrheal Decoction Clinical Study

Objective: To observe the drug safety and clinical efficacy of Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction in the treatment of liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome diarrhea after chemotherapy for intestinal cancer,to provide clinical basis and effective prescriptions for the treatment of liver-depression and spleen-deficiency diarrhea after chemotherapy for intestinal cancer and to expand the clinical application of the "one body,two wings" theory of de-regulating qi in oncological diseases.Method:A total of 72 cases of liver depression and spleen deficiency diarrhea after postoperative chemotherapy of CRC in the outpatient department and in patient department of Yunnan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected and randomized divided into the treatment group and the control group,36 cases in each group.The treatment group was given Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction,while the control group was given montmorillonite.After treatment,observing and comparing the changes of TCM syndrome score,KPS score,safety index,single symptom score between the two groups.Result: Before and after treatment,diarrhea grading,TCM syndrome score,the efficacy ofdiarrhea,safety indexes and KPS score of the two groups were compared as follows:1.Baseline data: In this study,a total of 72 patients were collected,among which 5 cases were shed in the treatment group(Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction)and 31 effective cases,and 3 cases were shed in the control group(montmorillonite group)and 33 effective cases,totaling 64 cases.Comparing with terms of age,gender and other baseline information,both two group were no remarkable difference,before treatment,and this study was comparable.2.Efficacy of diarrhea: After treatment,comparing with the effective rate of the control group(84.4%),the effective rate of the treatment group(93.5%)was better,which with statistical significance(P<0.05).3.Diarrhea grading: In this study,both groups were able to reduce the diarrhea grading of patients(P<0.05),comparing with the reducing the diarrhea grading of the control group better,the reducing the diarrhea grading of the treatment group was better(P<0.05).4.TCM syndrome scores: In this study,scores in the treatment group decreased better than those in the control group(P<0.05),after treatment.Comparing with improving belching symptom,the treatment group was significant better than the control group(P<0.01).Comparing with improving diarrhea frequency,abdominal distension and pain,emotional depression,abdominal fullness,loss of appetite and other symptoms,the treatment group was also better than the control group(P<0.05).The two groups had similar efficacy in improving stool characteristics,fatigue,and bowel call(P>0.05).5.Curative effect and score of KPS: The curative effect improvement rate of KPS in the treatment group was 36%,the stabilization rate was 61%,the inefficiency was 3%,the control group was 15%,76%,9%,respectively,and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05).The treatment group was better than the control group with the improvement of KPS score(P<0.05).6.Safety indexes: Both the control group patients and the treatment group patients,they were no obvious adverse reactions.Comparing with the prior treatment,both of them were not remarkable changes in fecal routine,liver and kidney function(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Both Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction and montmorillonite powder were effective in treating patients with diarrhea(liver depression and spleen deficiency)after post operative chemotherapy for bowel cancer,and the overall curative effect of Shutiao anti-diarrhealdecoction was superior to montmorillonite powder.2.Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction can effectively improve the TCM syndrome of patients liver depression and spleen deficiency type with diarrhea after postoperative chemotherapy for bowel cancer,and has advantages in improving the frequency of diarrhea,abdominal fullness,emotional depression,abdominal distension and pain,loss of appetite and other symptoms.3.Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction has advantages over montmorillonite powder in improving the KPS score of patients with diarrhea after postoperative chemotherapy forbowel cancer,and can effectively raise physical status of patients and the quality of life.4.Shutiao anti-diarrheal decoction security was better and can be tolerated by patients.
