Objective: To investigate the current situation of post-traumatic growth, social support and coping styles of parents of premature infants, and to explore the influencing factors of post-traumatic growth. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study. From January 2022 to June 2022,160 parents of Premature infants hospitalized in NICU of a Grade-A tertiary children’s hospital in Shenzhen were investigated by convenience sampling method. The research tools included the general Information Questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Post-Traumatic Growth Scale, the Simple Coping Style Questionnaire, and the Social Support Rating Scale. The measurement data conforming to normal distribution was expressed as( ± ),and the count data was expressed as percentage. The independent sample T-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to conduct a one-way analysis of post-traumatic growth of the parents of Premature infants.LSD pin-to-pair comparison was conducted for the three or more groups of variables with statistical differences. The variables with statistically significant differences in univariate analysis were taken as independent variables, and the post-traumatic growth scores of the parents of preterm infants were taken as dependent variables.Multiple linear regression analysis was performed, and P < 0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results:1.The total score of post-traumatic growth status of the parents of Premature infants was(66.41±10.37)points,which was at the lower level of the medium. The score of life perception was the highest(20.81±3.70)points,and the score of relationship with others was the lowest; The total score of the coping style of the parents of premature infants was(34.28±4.97)points,which was above the medium level. The positive coping score was the highest(23.03±6.22)points,and the negative coping score was the lowest(11.25±6.47)points;The total score of the social support status of parents of Premature infants was(34.28±4.97)points,which was at the medium level. The subjective support dimension scored the highest(19.31±6.25)points,and the support utilization dimension scored the lowest(7.38±2.48)points.2.The post-traumatic growth score of the parents of Premature infants was positively correlated with the subjective support dimension, objective support dimension, support utilization dimension and the positive coping dimension of coping style, and negatively correlated with the negative coping dimension of coping style.3.Analysis of influencing factors of post-traumatic growth in parents of premature infants(1)The univariate analysis: The post-traumatic growth of Premature infants’ parents had statistically significant differences in parental status, age, education level, history of serious diseases, family monthly income, the gestational age at birth, twin or multiple pregnancies, and the Apgar score at 5 minutes at birth(P<0.05).(2)The multivariate analysis: The main factors affecting post-traumatic growth of parents of Premature infants were the gestational age at birth, the Apgar score at 5 minutes at birth, social support and coping style(P<0.05),accounting for 65.8% of the total variation of post-traumatic growth of parents of Premature infants.Conclusion:1.Parents of Premature infants were below average in post-traumatic growth, medium in social support, and above average in coping styles.2.The higher the level of social support and coping style of the parents of Premature infants were, the higher the level of post-traumatic growth of the parents was.3.The gestational age at birth, the Apgar score at 5 minutes at birth, social support and coping style were the main factors affecting post-traumatic growth of parents of Premature infants.
