Study Of The Characteristics Of Tingxian Gong’s Prescription And Medication In Treating Infertility

Objective:Based on the analysis of 38 prescriptions for infertility in "Gong Tingxian Medical Complete Book" and "Yunlin Medical Saint Pudu Cihang",this papaer studied Gong Tingxian’s understanding of infertility and the characteristics of prescriptions,so that we could provide reference and guidance for clinical medication.Method:Through the literature review,this study summarized Gong’s academic thought,the historical origin of asking for heirs’,and Gong’s understanding of its etiology,pathogenesis,and treatment;This paper analyzed Gong’s 38 prescriptions for infertility,including their sources,compositions,efficacies,indications,and prescriptions,etc.;Finally,all prescriptions were into the ancient and modern medical record cloud platform(V2.3.5),and were statistically analyzed on the frequency of drug use,drug properties,and drug correlation.Results:When Gong Tingxian treated infertility,he mainly focused on the spleen,stomach,Qi and blood.According to the classification of viscera,the prescriptions used were divided into four categories,mainly involving spleen,kidney and liver.Most of the medicines returned to the spleen,kidney,liver three meridian,and secondly to the heart meridian.The frequency of use of warm medicine was the highest,and the taste of the medicine was more pungent and sweet.The most frequently used single-herb medicine is Angelica,followed by Poria.The commonly used medicine pairs are Poria and Angelica,Ginseng and Poria,Chuanxiong and Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae,Ginseng and Angelica,Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae and Angelica,Radix Rehmannia Praeparata and Angelica,Chuanxiong and Angelica,Rhizoma Cyperi and Angelica,Chuanxiong and Rhizoma Cyperi,Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae and Poria,Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae and Rhizoma Cyperi.Conclusion:1.Gong Tingxian believed that the root cause of infertility is men’s essence and women’s blood.He believed that the etiology and pathogenesis of infertility is that both men and women have insufficient Qi and blood,with men’s kidney deficiency and women’s Qi stagnation and blood stasis.2.Gong’s treatment of men and women’s heir deficiency mainly focused on nourishing blood and Qi,taking into account both the spleen,kidney and liver,and women’s focus on regulating menstruation and men’s focus on nourishing vital essence.3.The most commonly used medicine for Gong’s treatment is Angelica,followed by Poria.The characteristic of his medications was to involve invigorating deficiency medicine,supplemented by blood circulation promoting and blood stasis medicine and interior warming medicine.The most commonly used medicine pair is Poria and Angelica.He used Angelica,Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae,Chuanxiong,etc.to invigorate and nourish blood;Ginseng,Rhizoma Cyperi,Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae,etc.to invigorate and regulate Qi;Chinese yam,Semen Cuscutae,Schisandra chinensis,etc.to tonify the kidney and reinforce the essence.
