| In recent years, due to the impact of the COVID-19,medical staff once again came into public attention, and people also had a certain understanding of the work of medical staff. However, this doesn’t mean that the disappearance of malignant medical injuries, the reason for which is that the occurrence of malignant medical injuries mainly stems from the poor quality of doctor-patient and nurse-patient relationships caused by poor communication between the two sides. In medical and health work, nurses often have more frequent contact with patients, and their work tasks are more trivial. This study focuses on the study of nurse-patient relationship, which is a very important professional and therapeutic relationship in medical and health organizations, and has an important impact on both nurses and patients. It is crucial to know how to promote the establishment of a good nurse-patient relationship. In the past, scholars mainly considered how to promote nurse-patient relationships from the perspectives of both nurses and patients themselves, but some scholars also considered their influencing factors from broader perspectives such as organizational environment and society.Previous studies have confirmed that leadership styles within organizations have an important impact on nurse-patient relationships, and servant leadership,as a leadership style that emphasizes service and altruism, fits well with the concept of healthcare organizations serving patients. However, few studies have focused on the impact of servant leadership styles.Based on the social information processing theory, this study constructed a theoretical model of the impact of servant leadership on nurse-patient relationships, using empirical research methods to explore the mechanism of servant leadership on nurse-patient relationships, and based on the research results, proposed suggestions for building good nurse-patient relationships. The study reviewed relevant research literature on servant leadership, job satisfaction, service orientation, and nurse-patient relationship, and constructed a theoretical model.A questionnaire survey was conducted among frontline nurses in two public hospitals in Chengdu,Sichuan province, and a total of 542 valid data were obtained.SPSS26.0 and Amos24.0 were used to conduct reliability and validity analysis, common method bias test, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the sample data. The study concluded that:(1)servant leadership has a positive impact on nurse-patient relationships;(2)Job satisfaction plays a mediating role between servant leadership and nurse-patient relationships;(3)Service orientation of nurses positively moderates the positive relationship between servant leadership and job satisfaction;(4)Service orientation positively moderates the mediating role of job satisfaction between servant leadership and nurse-patient relationships. In general, this study theoretically expands the research on the application scenarios and outcome variables of servant leadership, clarifies the internal mechanism of its role in nurse-patient relationships, and explores the boundaries of social information processing theory. In terms of practical significance, the study provides directions and ideas for medical and health organizations on how to build a good nursepatient relationship, and provides suggestions for medical and health organizations on how to cultivate and stimulate the service behavior of leaders, select and promote employees with potential for servant leadership, thereby increasing servant leadership behavior in the organization, and selecting employees with high service orientation. Finally, the study analyzed the existing shortcomings and the direction for future research, indicating the direction for subsequent related research. |
