Objective Premenstrual syndrome is one of the common factors that endanger women’s health.Female college students are easily affected by premenstrual syndrome. However,in order to reduce the negative effects of premenstrual syndrome on female college students and promote their physical and mental health, the hypothesis model of premenstrual syndrome is established. Methods From June 2022 to September 2022,1780 questionnaires were distributed to 10 universities of science, engineering, medicine and literature, and 1700questionnaires were obtained. The statistical analysis methods include descriptive statistics of the general characteristics of the subjects, correlation analysis of variables, and structural equation model validation. From June 2022 to September 2022,a total of1780 questionnaires were sent out to four major universities in China, including science, engineering, medicine and literature, and 1700 valid questionnaires were used. The statistical analysis methods include descriptive statistics of general characteristics, correlation between variables, validation of hypothetical models and validation of modified models. Results The test results of the hypothesis model show that the whole fitting degree of the model is good, and 8 of the 10 paths proposed in the hypothesis model have statistical significance. In the correction index of the model,2 paths are added to determine the validity in theory, and then the final model is determined by correction and analysis. The fitting degree of the modified model was X~2=3106.135,CFI=0.879,NFI=0.869,TLI=0.842,IFI=0.879,RMSEA=0.079.The results showed that 10 paths were statistically significant. Conclusion The conclusion of the analysis of the relationships between variables included in the final model of this study are as follows:First, the factors that directly affect the coping style of premenstrual syndrome are perceived stress, menstrual symptoms, menstrual attitude and temperament. The most influential factor was perceived stress.Secondly, the factors that directly affect the menstrual attitudes of female college students are negative emotion, perceived stress, temperament and social support.Thirdly, the factors that directly affect the menstrual symptoms of female college students are perceived stress and social support.Among them, perceptual stress is also the factor that affects menstrual symptoms the most.Fourth, the direct and indirect effects of the measured variables were analyzed, and the results showed that perceived stress, menstrual attitude and temperament had statistical significance. In addition, the direct effects of negative emotion, perceived stress, temperament and social support on menstrual attitude were statistically significant, while the indirect effects were not statistically significant. For another variable, menstrual symptoms, perceived stress and social support were statistically significant for both direct and indirect effects. In a word, negative emotion, perceived stress, temperament and social support are the antecedents of premenstrual syndrome, among which perceived stress is the most important antecedent variable. In addition, perceived stress is also the most important factor influencing menstrual symptoms and menstrual attitudes.Based on the results of this study, understanding the causes and process of coping with premenstrual syndrome of female college students can provide reliable reference value for the intervention of coping style of coping.
