Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal compresses combined with Fuyuan Revitalizing Blood Soup in the treatment of postoperative swelling of intertrochanteric fracture of femur,we discussed the application value of combining internal and external treatment of Chinese medicine in the treatment of postoperative swelling of fracture and provided help to better utilize the characteristics of Chinese medicine treatment in the treatment of postoperative swelling of intertrochanteric fracture of femur.Methods: Sixty postoperative patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur who were hospitalized in the Department of Traumatic Orthopedics and Hand Surgery of Ruikang Hospital,Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine and the Department of Orthopedics of Tianyang Hospital from September 2021 to January 2023 were randomly divided into control and treatment groups according to the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The degree of swelling,VAS pain score and laboratory indexes(hemoglobin,erythrocyte pressure product,white blood cell count,C-reactive protein)were observed and recorded for each patient after surgery(1d,3d,7d,10d)based on conventional symptomatic treatment with cold compresses and Chinese herbal compresses combined with oral administration of Fuyuanhuoxue soup,respectively,and the collected data were analyzed and analyzed by SPSS25.0 statistical analysis.clinical efficacy was evaluated by observing the indexes.Results: 1.In this clinical study,a total of 60 patients met the inclusion criteria,and there was no statistically significant comparison between the two groups in terms of gender,age,and disease location(P>0.05),which were comparable.There was no difference in the difference in circumference between the affected side and the healthy side,VAS score,hemoglobin,red blood cell pressure,white blood cell count and C-reactive protein between the two groups on postoperative day 1,which was not statistically significant(P>0.05)and was comparable.2.Evaluation of efficacy:(1)Degree of swelling(circumferential difference between the affected side and the healthy side): both groups showed a reduction in circumferential difference after surgery,and the reduction in circumferential difference was faster in the treatment group than in the control group,with better efficacy than in the control group(P < 0.05).(2)VAS score: Both groups showed a decrease in VAS score after surgery,and the rate of decrease was faster in the treatment group than in the control group,and the efficacy was better than that in the control group(P < 0.05).(3)Hemoglobin values: Both groups showed an increase in hemoglobin values after surgery,but there was no difference in the efficacy between the two groups at day 3 after surgery,which was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the values in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group at days 7 and 10,and the efficacy was better than that in the control group(P<0.05).(4)Erythrocyte pressure value: Both groups showed an increase in erythrocyte pressure value after surgery,but there was no difference in the efficacy of the two groups at day 3 after surgery,which was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the value of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group at days 7 and 10,which was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).(5)White blood cell count: Both groups showed an increase in white blood cell count on postoperative day 3,and there was no difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and the white blood cell count in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group on postoperative day 7,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(6)C-reactive protein: Both groups showed an increase in C-reactive protein values on postoperative day 3,and there was no difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and the C-reactive protein values in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group on postoperative day 7,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the C-reactive protein values in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group on postoperative day 10,but the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).Conclusion:1.Patients in both groups with postoperative intertrochanteric fractures of the femur experienced postoperative swelling,pain,anemia,and elevated inflammatory indexes.In contrast,the postoperative management in both groups could reduce postoperative limb swelling,reduce pain,improve inflammatory indexes and correct anemia after surgery.And compared with the ordinary postoperative treatment in the control group,the combined speed of swelling reduction,pain reduction,inflammatory index decrease and anemia recovery in both groups can be concluded that the efficacy of the treatment group is better than that of the control group and has clinical application value.2.The postoperative anemia in both groups cannot be corrected quickly in a short period of time because of postoperative occult blood loss and other reasons,but with the passage of time,the effect of the treatment group is gradually better than that of the control group.In terms of inflammation indexes,considering the influence of surgery and postoperative stress state,etc.,the inflammation indexes of both groups showed an increasing trend first and then a gradual decreasing trend,and the treatment group had better inflammation control effect than the control group within a certain period of time.However,with the passage of time,the inflammatory indexes in both groups gradually returned to normal levels,and there was no difference in the long-term efficacy of the treatment in the two groups,with C-reactive protein recovering more slowly due to the sensitivity of the indexes and other reasons.
