ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the status of sense of coherence,self-management and quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients. To analyze the interrelationship between sense of coherence,self-management and quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients. To explore the mediating role of self-management in HIV/AIDS patients in sense of coherence and quality of life, and to provide effective nursing pathways for improving the quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients.MethodsThis is a cross-sectional study,358 HIV/AIDS patients were conveniently selected as research subjects from September 2021 to October 2022 from an infectious disease hospital in Jinzhou City,Liaoning Province, and used the general data questionnaire,SOC-13,HIV/AIDS patient self-management scale and SF-12 as research tools to investigate the demographic data, sense of coherence level,self-management level and quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients. The collected information is transcribed into Excel in the form of data for statistical analysis using SPSS 26.0 as well as the PROCESS program. The general data of patients were descriptive statistics using frequency and percentage, the status quo of sense of coherence,self-management and quality of life was descriptive and analyzed by means and standard deviation, and univariate ANOVA or independent sample t-test was used to analyze the influencing factors of general data of HIV/AIDS patients on sense of coherence,self-management and quality of life.Pearson correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between sense of coherence,self-management and quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients.Results1、The total score of sense of coherence was(52.69±12.75),the total score of HIV/AIDS patients in self-management was(102.12±24.94),and the total score of quality of life was(39.47±8.74).2、There were significant differences in sense of coherence scores in age, place of residence, education level, marital status, occupation, per capita monthly household income, medical insurance method, infection route, and time of initiation of treatment(P<0.01).There were significant differences in self-management scores of HIV/AIDS patients in terms of age, education level, route of infection, and time of initiation of treatment(P<0.01).Quality of life scores showed significant differences in gender, age, education level, marital status, per capita monthly household income, route of infection, and time to start treatment(P<0.01).3、The results of Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that self-management was positively correlated with sense of coherence(r=0.247,P<0.01).Self-management was positively correlated with quality of life(r=0.483,P<0.01).Sense of coherence was positively correlated with quality of life(r=0.476,P<0.01).4、The results of stratified regression analysis showed that sense of coherence and self-management had predictive effects on quality of life(sense of coherence: β=0.523,t=11.372,P<0.001;self-management: β=0.241,t=5.614,P<0.001).5、The results of the mediation effect test showed that the direct effect of sense of coherence on quality of life was 0.260,accounting for 79.80% of the total effect. The mediating effect of self-management between sense of coherence and quality of life was 0.066,accounting for 20.20% of the total effect.Conclusions1、The sense of coherence is poor, the self-management level of HIV/AIDS patients is moderately low,and the quality of life is low.2、The patient’s age, place of residence, education level, marital status, occupation, per capita monthly household income, medical insurance method, infection route, and time of initiation of treatment were the main influencing factors of patients’ sense of coherence; The age, education level, route of infection, and time of initiation of treatment in HIV/AIDS patients are the main influencing factors of patients’ self-management;Gender,age,education level, marital status, per capita monthly household income, route of infection, and time of initiation of treatment were the main influencing factors of patients’ quality of life.3、Self-management can act as a mediator in regulating psychological consistency and quality of life in HIV/AIDS patients.Psychological consistency can directly affect quality of life and can indirectly affect quality of life by regulating self-management ability. |
