Construction Of A Quality Evaluation System Of Nurse-patient Therapeutic Communication

OBJECTIVEStarting from the subject and object of clinical work,patients and nurses,taking the quality of nurse-patient communication as the research base,and according to the current situation of nurse-patient communication in my country and the clinical needs of patients,a quality evaluation system of nurse-patient communication in line with my country’s national conditions is constructed.Provide a reference for improving the quality of communication between nurses and patients,and helping patients and their families to cooperate with nursing work.METHODSDelphi expert consultation:Based on the doctor-patient communication quality evaluation scale,combined with the literature review to understand the relevant factors affecting the quality of nurse-patient therapeutic communication,the first draft of the evaluation index of nurse-patient therapeutic communication quality was formed.27 experts from 10 tertiary hospitals and 3 colleges and universities in Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Huizhou were invited to conduct 2 rounds of expert consultation,demonstrated and improved,and formed the final nurse-patient therapeutic communication quality evaluation system.RESULTSDelphi technique:27 experts completed two-round consultations,the experts’authority coefficient was 0.860,and Kendall’s coefficients of concordance were 0.146 and 0.160 respectively(P<0.05 for both).Finally formed a quality evaluation system of nurse-patient therapeutic communication including 2 first-level indicators(quality evaluation of communication process,quality evaluation of communication results),3 second-level indicators(communication content,communication skills,communication effect),and 67 third-level indicators.CONCLUSIONBased on the evaluation scale of doctor-patient communication quality,the evaluation system of nurse-patient communication quality constructed through literature review and 2 rounds of Delphi expert consultation is scientific,innovative and practical.To provide theoretical support for the quality of nurse-patient communication,to build a training program for nurses’ communication skills,and carry out related training.Due to time constraints,this study only established a quality evaluation system of the therapeutic communication between nurses and patients,and clinical validation studies have yet to be carried out to test the sensitivity,specificity and operability of the indicators.Further,improve the contents of the indicators,and guid for clinical nurses to conduct good nurse-patient communication.
