Objective:Observe the clinical effects of Sanjie Tongqiao Decoction on adenoid hypertrophy(Qi and blood stasis type);New method were put forward for integrated treatment of adenoid hypertrophy in children.Methods:1.76 qualified children’s cases from the Zhangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, admitted from January to September,2021,were selected as the research object. The cases were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group,38 cases for each. The control group was treated with Mometasone Furoate Aqueous Nasal Spray +Montelukast Sodium, and the observation group was additionally treated with Sanjie Tongqiao Decoction.A course of treatment is 4 weeks, requiring two courses of treatment.2.We collected the general information of the patients from both groups;observed their TCM Clinical Symptom Score and Quality of Life Score before the treatment,4 weeks after the treatment, and 8 weeks after the treatment respectively;recorded the size of adenoid in X-ray nasopharynx lateral view;monitored the adverse drug reaction;and made follow-up visits to the patients during the 8 weeks after the treatment to investigate the reoccurrence rate. The curative efficacy was explored using statistical method to analyze the aforementioned data.Results:1.The male-female ratio of the 76 cases is 1.53: 1.The usually occurs at the age of3~7.The duration of the disease is mainly 3-9 months.73 cases were accepted as valid, with 3cases disappeared in the process.Between the two groups,no significant statistical difference(P>0.05)was found in gender, age, height, weight, course of the disease,or any pre-treatment scores.2.The Main Symptom Score: The main TCM symptoms(rhinobyon, snore, mouth breathing)of both groups were relieved(P<0.05),with the observation group better than the control group(P<0.05).3.The Accompanied Symptom Score: The accompanied symptoms(rhinorrhea, cough, tonsillar enlargement)of the observation group is relieved(P<0.05),the control group saw the drop of rhinorrhea and cough score(P<0.05),while tonsillar enlargement was no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).The observation group’s cough, tonsillar enlargement score was better than the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in convective DDT integral between the two groups(P>0.05).4.Size of the adenoid: The A/N value and the adenoid score are lower than they were before the treatment(P<0.05),while no significant variance was suggested in the control group(P>0.05).The observation group demonstrated better performance in improving A/N value(P<0.05),while no significant difference was found in the adenoid value(P>0.05).5.Clinical effects: After 8 weeks’ treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group is 91.89%,and that of the control group is 69.44%(P<0.05).6.Quality of Life Score: Both groups’ Quality of life Scores were lower than they were before the treatment(P<0.05),with the observation group’s performance better than the control group(P<0.05).7.Adverse reactions: During the treatment,1 child in the control group appeared dizziness, which was relieved after withdrawal.8.Recurrence rate: The recurrence rate of the observation group is 2.70%,while that of the control group is 16.67%,a variance that suggested statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Sanjie Tongqiao Decoction, served as addition to Mometasone Furoate Aqueous Nasal Spray + Montelukast Sodium, can achieve better clinical effect for adenoid hypertrophy(Qi and blood stasis type). The intergrative treatment can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of the patients, improve their quality of life, raise A/N value, and lower the recurrence rate.
