Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Chai Hu Xing Qi Decoction in treating chronic non-atrophic gastritis with bile reflux of biliary and gastric heat stagnation syndrome, and to investigate its mechanism,so as to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of Chai Hu Xing Qi Decoction in the treatment of this disease.Methods:Sixty-four patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis with bile reflux of biliary and gastric heat stagnation syndrome were selected clinically and randomly grouped into a treatment group(n=32)and a control group(n=32).The treatment group was given Chai Hu Xing Qi Decoction, while the control group was given chewable tablets of aluminium-magnesium dimethicone oil(Duo Xi),both for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy, symptom scores, degree of bile reflux under gastroscopy and safety indicators of the patients before and after treatment were recorded, and the results were analysed statistically.Results:①In terms of clinical efficacy, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 90%and the total effective rate of the control group was 73.33%,and there was a significant difference between the two groups by statistical test(P<0.01).②In terms of the efficacy of the TCM symptoms, the total TCM symptoms score was significantly lower in both groups after treatment(P<0.01),and the total score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group after treatment(P<0.01).③In terms of symptom improvement, the treatment group was better than the control group in improving epigastric distention or pain in the upper abdomen, belching and acid reflux, dry mouth and bitterness, and lack of desire to eat and drink(P<0.05),but not as good as the control group in improving heartburn(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference between the two groups in improving depression or irritability, bilateral chest distension and caoza(P>0.05).④ In terms of gastroscopic efficacy, the total effective rate was 90%in the treatment group and 80%in the control group, and there was a difference between the two groups by statistical test(P<0.05).⑤No adverse reactions and toxic side effects occurred in both groups during the treatment period. Conclusion:Chai Hu Xing Qi Decoction can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and gastroscopic signs in patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis with bile reflux of biliary and gastric heat stagnation syndrome, and has significant effects in improving distention or pain in the upper abdomen, belching and acid reflux, dry mouth and bitterness, and lack of desire to eat and drink, with high clinical safety.
