| As an important component of China’s agriculture, animal husbandry is an important industry related to the national economy and people’s livelihood. It is also an important lever to ensure food safety and a landmark industry of agricultural modernization. The mutton sheep industry is an important component of modern agriculture, and its vigorous development is of great significance for empowering rural revitalization.Inner Mongolia,as an important agricultural and livestock product production base in northern China,is a traditional and advantageous industry in terms of mutton sheep breeding. As a banner under the jurisdiction of Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia,Balin Left Banner is located in a semi agricultural and semi pastoral area, with abundant forage resources and vast crop planting area.Mutton sheep breeding is one of the leading industries in the livestock industry of Balin Left Banner. However, the scale of farmers’ sheep farming is generally small, with low economies of scale, resulting in insufficient market competitiveness, which not only affects the income of farmers’ sheep farming, but also hinders the modernization of sheep farming.Based on the above background, this thesis takes the mutton sheep breeding farmers in Balin Left Banner as the research object.Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods,it explores the influencing factors of the scale selection behavior of mutton sheep breeding, and provides effective suggestions for promoting the moderate development of mutton sheep breeding scale in the agricultural pastoral ecotone of Balin Left Banner,in order to improve the economic benefits of mutton sheep breeding and promote the large-scale development of mutton sheep breeding in Balin Left Banner. The main research content and conclusions are as follows:Firstly, based on the statistical data of the livestock industry in Balin Left Banner,an overview was given of the stock of livestock in the livestock industry and the development trend of mutton sheep farming. The results indicate that the breeding of mutton sheep in Balin Left Banner has always been in a dominant position in animal husbandry, and the moderate scale development of mutton sheep breeding is a necessary prerequisite for achieving sustainable development of the mutton sheep breeding industry.Secondly, after conducting a questionnaire survey to obtain data on the costs and benefits of farmers’ mutton sheep farming,a profit and loss balance nonlinear regression model is established to determine the reasonable scale and optimal economic scale of farmers’ mutton sheep farming. The results indicate that the reasonable scale of sheep farming for farmers in Balin Left Banner ranges from 35 to 365,with the optimal economic scale of sheep farming being 200.However,the overall level of mutton sheep farming among farmers in Balin Left Banner is relatively low,and there is still room for moderate scale development.Thirdly, based on the individual characteristics of farmers, farming management characteristics, external and other characteristics,an indicator system for the influencing factors of sheep breeding scale selection behavior is constructed.By using a multiple ordered logistic regression model, empirical analysis is conducted on the important factors that affect farmers’ sheep breeding scale selection behavior. The model analysis results indicate that factors such as forage resource reserves, difficulty in obtaining breeding funds, proportion of sheep income to household income, participation in sheep breeding technology training, and joining sheep farming cooperatives have a significant impact on farmers’ selection of sheep breeding scale.According to the above conclusions,In order to reasonably guide the moderate scale of meat sheep breeding of farmers in Balin Left Banner, this thesis puts forward several countermeasures and suggestions:(1)strengthen the reserve of forage resources in multiple ways;(2)Optimize loan policies and reduce capital restrictions;(3)Improve feeding methods and raise breeding income;(4)Strengthen the training services in all aspects of mutton sheep breeding;(5)Improve the construction of specialized mutton sheep breeding cooperatives. |
