Study On The Control Effect Of New Herbicide On Turf Weeds

The rapid urbanization,booming economy,and the rise in the standard of living lead to the growing demand of lawn market in China.Weed growth is a prominent problem restricting the development of lawn industry.At present,chemical control is the main control method for lawn weeds.‘Alion’ SC is an environment-friendly pre-bud herbicide with good effect on crop weeds control.The mixed herbicide Y7500 is a pre-emergence herbicide.However,their effects on different turfgrass species,efficiency among different turf establishment periods as well as the application methods are largely unclear.In this study,the weed control efficiency of 500 g/L ‘Alion’ SC and Y7500 as well as pesticide safety on three turf grass species Cynodon dactylon,Zonysia sinisa and Paspalum vaginatum were observed,using Acetochlor 50% EC and flazasulfuron 25% as control herbicide.The experiment was carried out on bermudagrass turf and zoysiagrass turf mowed and seashore paspalum turf.The results could provide technical support for screening suitable application method and scientific management of lawn.The main results are as follows:1.The aggressive and competitive weeds included Conyza canadensis,Hemistepta lyrata,Sonchus asper,Gnaphalium affine,Geranium wilfordii,Artemisia carvifolia,Mazus japonicus,Myosoton aquaticum,Portulaca oleracea,Eleusine indica,Echinochloa crusgalli and Echinochloa crusgalli.2.On bermudagrass lawn which was just been mowed,single spray of lower concentration of ‘Alion’ in autumn showed better weed control effect and higher safety,and still had good control effect until the 200 th day of the experiment.Among different treatments,A30 could meet the demand for weed control,and had no harmful effect on development and quality of lawn.At about the 5th day of application,the turf grass treated with Y7500 lost green,and recovered after 7 d to 10 d.Y7500 had a good weed control effect,and its effective period could last till 140 d.3.On the Zoysia grass lawn where the turf has just been eradicated,a single spray of A60 in autumn showed better weed control effect and higher safety,and the lasting effect was long,it still had a good control effect until the 200 th day of the test.About a week after spraying,the turf grass treated with Y7500 lost green,and recovered after about 20 days.Y7500 had a good weed control effect,and its effective period was about 140 d.4.On the Seashore paspalum lawn,a single spray of A30 in autumn showed better weed control effect and higher safety,and the lasting effect was long,and it still had a good control effect until the 200 th day of the test.The Seashore paspalum turf was sensitive to herbicides,and the A30 treatment was less harmful to Seashore paspalum turf,and it reduced the color of Seashore paspalum turf in a short period of about 28 days.About one week after spraying,the turf grass treated with Y7500 lost green,and recovered about 15 days.Y7500 had a good weed control effect,and its effective period was about 170 days.
