Under the background of comprehensively implementing rural revitalization, agricultural and rural development is facing many changes. While opening the path of rapid development in the pig breeding industry, environmental protection should be taken into account, and green ecology should be implemented simultaneously. In recent years, with the support of national policies,China is gradually moving forward from a large pig breeding country to a powerful pig breeding country. However, with the rapid development of the pig industry, the environmental pollution problem is also becoming increasingly serious, and environmental governance is imminent.Shandong Province,as a major pig breeding province in the north of China, has a uniform distribution of pig breeding regions,a large number of small and medium-sized pig farmers,a vast geographical area, and superior natural and geographical conditions. There are many pig farmers who choose the combination of breeding and breeding mode. However, due to the corresponding policies given by local governments and the impact of factors such as the farming environment and scale of farmers in various regions,There are significant differences among pig farmers in different regions of Shandong Province in their choice of adopting a breeding and breeding combination model.Based on the current development situation of the pig breeding industry in Shandong Province and the actual situation of pig farmers choosing pig breeding models in Shandong Province, this article, through consulting previous data and investigating the actual situation, discusses the behavior and main influencing factors of pig farmers choosing the breeding and breeding combination model in Shandong Province, providing some reference for the development and promotion of the breeding and breeding combination model. This article uses four research methods: literature research, questionnaire survey, binary logistic regression model analysis, and in-depth interview.Through research on relevant literature such as the combination of breeding and breeding, farmers’ choice behavior, and pig farming, and combining relevant concepts and designing a questionnaire survey,a questionnaire survey was conducted among pig farmers in Shandong Province to analyze the current situation of pig farming in Shandong Province, the necessity, feasibility, and application status of the combination of breeding and breeding mode.Based on the microscopic data of the sample farmers, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the farmers in six aspects: individual, family, market, policy, nature, and service system.Using a binary logistic regression model, empirical analysis is conducted to draw research conclusions and propose corresponding policy recommendations. The research results show that, starting from the current situation of pig farming in Shandong Province, the scale, quantity, and regional distribution of pig farming are described, and it is concluded that large-scale pig farming in Shandong Province is developing rapidly, with an increasing number year by year, and a relatively uniform regional distribution of pig farming. However, while the pig farming industry is developing rapidly, traditional farming models have been unable to meet the practical needs of agricultural economic development. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a new type of farming mode to comply with the trend of agricultural economic development.Through exploration and practice,it is concluded that the combination of planting and breeding mode is an important driving force for promoting the transformation of agricultural production to a "resource product renewable resource product" circular economy;According to the author’s field survey,90.6% of farmers choose the combination of breeding and breeding mode.Empirical analysis shows the main factors that affect pig farmers’ selection of the combination of breeding and breeding mode, including the age, gender, education level, number of family working population, main income sources of the family, understanding of pig breeding policies(the combination of breeding and breeding pig breeding policies),pig breeding experience, methods, and adopted breeding management methods Sixteen factors, such as the treatment method for pig epidemics, the difficulty of obtaining income in addition to pig farming, and the degree of cost reduction compared to traditional pig farming, have a significant impact on the behavior of farmers in choosing a breeding and breeding combination mode.Based on the above conclusions, the following policy recommendations can be drawn:strengthen the publicity of the planting and breeding combination model;Strengthen policy support for the model of combining planting and breeding;Giving full play to government functions and paying attention to improving the quality of farmers themselves;Increase government investment in relevant breeding personnel and labor.
