The corn industry in Jilin province has developed rapidly in recent years,especially in the research and development of new varieties and innovation,a large number of new varieties have been cultivated,and a number of new varieties with strong resistance and suitable for compact planting have been vigorously promoted.Through field investigation,it is found that although the development situation of corn industry in Jilin Province is good,the problems of mixed varieties,serious degradation of traditional local varieties and low promotion ratio of new varieties still exist.Farmers are the final choice and users of maize varieties,and their choice and behavior affect the innovation and development of maize varieties to a great extent.This paper takes corn farmers in Jilin Province as the research object,adopts literature research method,field investigation method and binary Logistic regression model to analyze the research content.Firstly,the relevant concepts of corn farmers and new varieties of corn were put forward,and the theory of technology diffusion and farmer behavior were taken as the theoretical basis of the research.Then according to the information collected from the questionnaire,the present situation of maize variety selection and application of farmers in Jilin Province was described.Then the cross-sectional analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of farmers’ maize variety selection behavior.Finally,the main influencing factors of farmers’ selection behavior of new maize varieties in Jilin Province were calculated by binary Logistic regression model.The results show that a large number of new maize varieties have been approved in Jilin Province in recent years,which makes the maize varieties selected by farmers also present a diversified trend,but the planting area of the varieties mainly promoted by the government is slightly lower.Through further model verification,it was found that education level,whether they were demonstration households,whether they knew the characteristics of new varieties,the number of training,whether new varieties were lodging resistant,disease resistant and whether they could increase yield had significant positive influence on whether new varieties were adopted or not.Age,scale of cultivated land and purchase of false seeds had significant negative influence on the adoption of new maize varieties.Farmer’s risk attitude,main source of income of family and whether to improve the quality did not influence whether to adopt new maize varieties.According to the empirical results,this paper improve the culture quality of farmers,broadening the information acquirement of the farmers,to enhance investment in policy,improve the efficiency of the corn production,strengthen the new maize varieties training,improve the level of farmers cognition,management of seed market,create a good market atmosphere,etc,puts forward the countermeasures and Suggestions.
