Investigation On The Factors Influencing The Economic Efficiency Of Small-and Medium-scale Dairy Farmers In Meishan City

The dairy industry is currently receiving more and more attention as a key industry for a healthy China and a strong country,and its associated economic development as well as quality and safety issues are drawing more and more attention.China’s dairy farming industry is maturing as customer demand for high-level raw milk gradually increases.Meishan City,Sichuan Province,as one of the dominant main dairy production areas nationwide,provides a strong guarantee of adequate supply for the national dairy industry.However,at this stage,small and medium-scale dairy farming in Meishan City suffers from increased farming costs and fluctuating benefits,and dairy farmers suffer serious losses in farming economic benefits.In order to achieve the dual goals of reducing production costs and improving product quality,it is crucial to improve the quality and efficiency of the Meishan dairy industry and the sustainable and stable income of dairy farmers.This study combines the theories of farmers’ behavior,human capital,and cost-benefit to describe the current situation of the development of the dairy farming industry in Meishan City using a questionnaire survey.The current situation of the dairy farming industry in Meishan City is described by using a questionnaire survey,selecting the influencing factors indicators from the perspective of the cost-benefit of dairy farming,analyzing the relevant factors and then establishing a multiple linear regression model based on the relationship between the factors,based on the Based on the basic data obtained from the questionnaire,the data obtained from the questionnaire were further processed and analyzed using Stata software to determine the influence of each factor on the cost and benefit of dairy farming,and the results of the study were used to develop a technical route for improving the efficiency and cost management of the dairy farming industry in Meishan City.The study found that small and medium-scale dairy farmers in Meishan City,Sichuan Province generally have low education,most of their family members are involved in dairy farming,and the overall annual household income has a large gap overall;the overall medical conditions are poor and lack of health awareness,there are more Holstein milk cow farmers and most of them have a certain breeding base,but the government support for dairy farmers is insufficient;as the cost of farmers continues to increase,at this time The biggest problem facing the farmers is the difficulty of getting loans,but the vast majority of dairy farmers have confidence in the development of dairy farming and say they will maintain or expand the scale of farming.The economic efficiency of dairy farming varies to some extent among dairy farmers;the factors affecting the efficiency of dairy farming and the degree of it vary;and the efficiency of dairy farming changes inversely with the expansion of the scale of dairy farming.Based on the above problems,rationalization suggestions were made for small-scale dairy farming in Meishan City at four levels: farmers,industry,government,and international.This study aims to provide theoretical guidance for the development of small-scale dairy farming industry in Meishan City.
