| Crabs are one of the most important aquaculture products in China,with a long history of farming,and are now mainly found in China,from the Liao River in the north to the Pearl River in the south.Jiangsu Province accounts for about half of the total production of crabs in the country,and Xinghua City,Jiangsu Province,is the largest city in China in terms of crab farming,with over 300000 people currently engaged in river crab farming related industries.However,with the increasing scale.and intensification of crab farming in Xinghua,water scarcity and the deterioration of the water environment,the yield and quality of crabs in the farming ponds have been greatly affected,and the efficient and sustainable ecological farming of crab farming has become a key and important breakthrough in the construction of a livable and beautiful countryside and the revitalisation of the countryside in Xinghua.In this paper,we conduct a study on the mode and efficiency of crab farming in Xinghua City,with the aim of helping crab farmers in Xinghua City,which is known as the"hometown of fish and rice",to get rich and increase their income,and to achieve green and sustainable development and rural revitalization.Through field research,questionnaire survey,literature search and empirical analysis,this paper applies theories of cost-benefit,economy of scale and sustainable agricultural development to conduct an in-depth and systematic analysis and research on the modes of crab farming(crab mixed with crayfish,crab mixed with green shrimp and crab monoculture)and their benefits in Xinghua City,exploring the yield,output value,cost profitability,sales profitability and marginal contribution margin of different crab farming modes.The study found that the differences in yield,production value,cost margin,sales margin and marginal contribution margin of crab farming in Xinghua City and their causes.The study found that crab farming in Xinghua has problems such as the ageing of practitioners,low overall quality,lack of training and over-reliance on farming experience,serious pollution of farming water,natural and market risks,rapidly rising farming costs and lack of production capital.The study suggests countermeasures such as purchasing agricultural insurance to reduce natural risks,strengthening business integrity to reduce market risks,regulating the orderly transfer of farming ponds to reduce fixed costs of farming,playing the role of financial support to agriculture,and improving the information service system to reduce poor farming information.The study concluded that the ecological culture model of crab and crayfish mixed farming meets the needs of local aquaculture transformation and upgrading,green and high-quality development,and the study proposed that the model of crab and crayfish mixed farming under the scale of 20-50 mu has the highest production to investment ratio and benefits,and the model can be replicated in Xinghua City and surrounding areas.The results of this study are of great practical significance in promoting the green and sustainable development of river farming in Xinghua City,consolidating the results of poverty eradication,promoting the implementation of the rural revitalisation strategy and the rapid development of the industry. |
