As the tertiary industry of forestry, the green and low energy-consuming characteristics of forest tourism make it the main direction of transformation and development of traditional forestry,a green industry that balances social and economic development and ecological environment improvement, and promotes sustainable socio-economic development. However, the development, construction and operation of forest tourism also have a negative impact on the forest ecological environment and the dissemination of ecological civilization concepts, making it difficult to clarify the coupling relationship between the economic, ecological and social benefits of forest tourism. In view of this, this paper firstly constructs the coupling mechanism of forest tourism benefits based on ecological economic theory, system theory and coordinated development theory, and analyzes the current situation of forest tourism benefits using annual statistical data, secondly constructs the forest tourism benefits evaluation model based on entropy value method and TOPSIS method, and evaluates the forest tourism benefits of 31 provinces in China from 2008-2018 in the dimension of spatio-temporal evolution, and finally The coupling coordination degree model and panel vector autoregressive model(PVAR)model are used to study the coupling coordination state and dynamic interactive coupling relationship of forest tourism in China, respectively,in order to clarify the coupling relationship of forest tourism economy, ecology and society, and provide useful reference for formulating policies to improve the coupling coordination state of forest tourism benefits. The main research results are as follows.(1)Overall,from 2008 to 2018,the benefits of forest tourism in China were ecological benefits, social benefits and economic benefits from high to low,and the three benefits of forest tourism and their comprehensive benefits showed obvious regional imbalance.(2)As for the coupling and coordination state of forest tourism benefits. The coupling degree between forest tourism benefits in China increased from 0.695 in 2008 to 0.846 in 2018,and the interaction between forest tourism benefits has been enhanced over time; The coupling and coordination of forest tourism benefits in China is not optimistic.By 2018,the coordination degree of forest tourism benefits in 17 provinces in China is in the antagonistic area, the coordination degree of forest tourism benefits in 12 provinces(cities)is in the running in area, and the coordination degree of forest tourism benefits in Zhejiang and Hunan provinces is in the coordination area, but its coupling and coordination level is only primary coordination.(3)The dynamic interactive coupling relationship between forest tourism benefits. In the short term, there is a vicious coupling relationship between the three major benefits of forest tourism that inhibit each other and compete with each other. In the long term, there is a benign coupling relationship between the three major benefits of forest tourism that promotes each other and cooperates with each other, but its solidity is poor.Based on the above conclusions, the following policy suggestions are put forward:(1)Strengthen policy guidance and optimize the comprehensive benefits of forest tourism across regions;(2)Pay attention to the initial development planning and give full play to the ecological and social benefits of forest tourism;(3)Pay attention to the long-term development planning of forest tourism and the improvement of tourism service quality;(4)Change the development thinking and pay attention to the synergy of forest tourism benefits.
