Over the past 50 years, arable land abandonment has been spreading globally.Abandonment exists in most areas of our country, especially in remote mountain villages. With the further deepening of industrialization and urbanization, the further precipitation of rural labor force and the continued decrease in the number of agricultural labor force, the scope and degree of arable land abandonment are likely to intensify.Mastering the information and driving factors of abandoned cultivated land, and curbing the abandonment of cultivated land is related to national food security and social stability. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of the characteristics and driving factors of abandoned cultivated land to deepen the understanding of the relationship between cultivated land abandonment-economy-society,in order to provide scientific basis for government departments to formulate reasonable policies to curb the abandonment of cultivated land and arrange agricultural and rural development.Based on this, this paper takes abandoned cultivated land as the research object, and Ansai District,Yan’an City,Shaanxi Province as the research area.Through programming on the GEE platform, within the cultivated land range determined by the second national land survey, based on the annual maximum NDVI value, through threshold segmentation The method extracts the abandoned cultivated land in Ansai District from 2010 to 2020,and analyzes the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the abandoned cultivated land.Combined with the social and economic data obtained from the household survey in the village, comprehensively analyze the natural(site conditions)and social and economic conditions of the abandoned cultivated land in Ansai District.main driving force.Research shows:1.Based on the maximum annual NDVI value, the extraction thresholds of abandoned cultivated land were determined to be 0.26,0.38 and 0.42,respectively.According to the thresholds, the fallow cultivated land in a single year from 2010 to 2020 and the abandoned cultivated land in consecutive years were extracted respectively. The overall accuracy of the extraction results was 85%.The kappa coefficient was 0.702,and the classification results were highly consistent.2.The time change law and the degree of abandonment of abandoned farmland in Ansai District of Yan’an City are inconsistent with different abandonment years. The abandonment rate of cultivated land that has been abandoned for 2 consecutive years in the whole region shows a fluctuating and decreasing trend. The abandonment rate of cultivated land that has been abandoned for 3 consecutive years and 5 consecutive years shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.Abandoned cultivated land in Ansai District is mainly distributed in the northeast and southwest;the abandoned cultivated land has a slope of 6-25°,an altitude of more than 1200 m,and the area of the suburbs and far away from urban areas is larger. The longer the farming distance, the larger the area of long-term abandoned cultivated land.3.The physical and geographical factors are important factors affecting the abandonment of cultivated land in Ansai District, while the socio-economic factors and farmers’ behavior greatly increase the amount and degree of abandonment.Combined with the socioeconomic data obtained from the village-to-household survey,it was found that the proportion of agricultural income, the proportion of Sichuan land, the ratio of production and investment per mu and the abandonment rate were negatively correlated;the proportion of sloping farmland, soil erosion, travel time, farmland quality,Average slope is positively correlated with abandonment rate.Among them, the correlation coefficient between soil erosion and abandonment rate is the highest, which is 0.378.
