Under the background of the new stage of high-quality development, the forestry industry has been endowed with a new historical mission. The forestry industry is faced with the important issue of structural upgrading and restructuring as well as how to achieve increased efficiency and improved quality.Industrial agglomeration is both a typical geographical feature of forestry development and an important organisational form of industrial development, and it has an important institutional impact on the sustainable, efficient and balanced development of the forestry industry. Therefore,it is important to focus on the geographical agglomeration of forestry industry, analyse its agglomeration characteristics and current situation, and study the impact of forestry industry agglomeration on the optimization of forestry industry structure,so as to provide reference for optimizing forestry industry policy formulation and promoting forestry structure adjustment. After combing the theories of forestry industry agglomeration and forestry industry structure optimization, this paper determines the theoretical basis of the research, then combines the current situation of forestry industry development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, determines the research ideas and route framework, and uses qualitative and quantitative analysis, theoretical analysis and empirical analysis in the research process.Firstly, based on the theories related to agglomeration and structural optimisation, the mechanism of forestry industry agglomeration on forestry structure optimisation is analysed.Secondly, the current situation of forestry development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is analysed, and the level of forestry agglomeration in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is measured by applying the entropy of industrial agglomeration location, the level of advanced and rationalised forestry structure is measured by applying the industrial structure hierarchy coefficient and the Thiel index respectively, and the development of forestry agglomeration and structural optimisation levels are analysed from two perspectives:time and regional differences. Then, the spatial correlation between forestry agglomeration and forestry structure optimisation in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was examined, and the spatial distribution characteristics of forestry agglomeration and forestry structure optimisation between regions were analysed from both global and local perspectives.Again, after conducting fixed and random effects checks,Wald and LR tests, suitable spatial econometric models are selected to investigate the direct, spillover and total effects of forestry agglomeration and control variables on forestry structural optimisation under the decomposition of spatial effects. Finally,on the basis of the findings of the study, relevant policy recommendations for promoting good forestry agglomeration and structural optimisation are proposed. After the study,it was found that:(1)On the whole, the index of advanced forestry industry structure in the Yangtze River Economic Zone shows a linear upward trend, with relatively small differences between regions;the value of forestry structure rationalization index is much larger than 0,in a more unbalanced state, but with a downward trend, and the gap between regions increases.(2)The level of advanced forestry industry structure in the Yangtze River Economic Zone has a negative spatial correlation, and the rationalization of forestry industry structure shows a transformation from a positive correlation to a negative correlation.(3)The agglomeration of forestry industry has an important positive promotion effect on the advanced level of forestry structure in the region, and will have a more significant extrusion effect on the advanced level of forestry structure in the neighbouring regions;the agglomeration of forestry industry also positively promotes the improvement of the rationalization level of forestry structure in the region, and has a positive but insignificant impact coefficient on neighbouring areas. |
