Promoting circular agriculture model is not only an effective response to the increasingly severe agricultural environmental problems and the shortage of agricultural land, but also an important measure to respond to the national strategy of rural revitalization and carbon neutrality.Based on field survey data of circular agriculture model demonstration areas, this paper first combines the research results of planned behavior theory, uses the structural equation model(SEM)to explore the path mechanism of farmers’ adoption behavior and the government’s existing extension logic under the circular agriculture model.Secondly, the paper sorts out the detailed indicators and builds a framework for the adoption behavior mechanism of farmers’ circular agriculture model.Based on the logistic regression model, the in-depth factors affecting farmers’ adoption behavior are explored from three aspects:behavior activation mechanism, occurrence mechanism, and restriction mechanism. Then, this paper selects typical examples in each land area to conduct case analysis to verify the empirical results of the previous article. The research results show that:(1)Farmers adopting the circular agriculture model have a triple action logic of "spontaneous","inducible" and "constrained".In addition to seeking efficient rational human standards, they are also affected by the institutional environment.Based on multi-group analysis, the promotion of circular agriculture in inland areas mainly relies on government subsidies, which is low in sustainability. The offshore area mainly relies on many third-party organizations such as cooperatives and fisheries associations to guide farmers to adopt the new model, which is highly sustainable.(2)The influence mechanism of farmers’ adoption behavior can be further refined into three aspects:behavior activation mechanism, occurrence mechanism, and restriction mechanism.Among them, farmers’ awareness of ecological responsibility, economic expectations and other cognitive variables and technical training variables will activate farmers’ adoption behavior. In terms of behavior occurrence mechanism, government policy subsidies, neighborhood effects, and cooperative guidance positively affect farmers’adoption behavior. In terms of behavioral restraint mechanisms, farmers will be negatively affected by the difficulty of obtaining production technology, risks, cost constraints, and market environment.(3)By comparing the cost-benefit of the circular agricultural model and the traditional model, circular agricultural model has economic, ecological, and social benefits. At the same time,it was found that there were problems in the promotion process of the circular agricultural model in the two case sites, such as the imbalance of the promotion body, the government’s"subsidy mismatch",the inadequate training, and the imperfect market supervision. Therefore,it is suggested that the government should be combined with non-governmental third-party non-profit organizations to build a collaborative promotion mechanism of diversified policy subjects, broaden the channels of technology communication, and activate social norms for driving use.At the same time, the relevant regulatory system should be improved to provide legal support for the adoption behavior of farmers.
