| In recent years,China’s high-speed railway has been developing rapidly, while the growth rate of the aviation transportation industry has slowed down, and the original route system of hub airports has been disrupted. In this context,in order to achieve profitability, airlines have launched air-rail intermodal transportation products to increase their customer base. The definition of air-rail intermodal transportation products is that airlines and railway companies implement code sharing to provide convenient and fast transportation services for passengers. This study analyzes the development of air-rail intermodal transportation, classifies and discusses air-rail hub nodes, and optimizes the air-rail intermodal transportation hub route network. This study first introduces the configuration of route networks and the hub-axis-amplitude route network configuration. It summarizes the development of high-speed railway passenger transportation and aviation passenger transportation in China, and summarizes the practices of air-rail intermodal transportation at home and abroad.Combining the connection status of major city airports and high-speed railway stations in China, this study proposes suggestions for the current development of air-rail intermodal transportation in China.Secondly, this study explores the relationship between urban economy and the categories of air-rail intermodal transportation hubs. The research object is36 major cities in China. This study establishes an evaluation system for air-rail intermodal transportation hubs related to economic, social, and transportation attributes. It uses the entropy weighting method and K-MEANS clustering analysis method to classify air-rail intermodal transportation hub cities, dividing the 36 cities into 3 categories and positioning the functions of the three categories of cities. The results are analyzed from the perspectives of regions and cities. Finally, from the perspective of air-rail intermodal transportation operators’ strategic planning, considering the operating costs of air-rail intermodal transportation operators and the travel time costs of passengers, this study establishes a non-strict multi-allocation air-rail intermodal transportation hub network optimization model with the goal of minimizing the total cost. This study selects 22 typical cities from the 36 cities as examples for empirical analysis.By setting different time value coefficients and economic value coefficients for sensitivity analysis, different numbers of hubs are selected for analysis under the same time value coefficient. The solution with the lowest total cost is selected as the optimal solution, and the optimized air-rail intermodal transportation hub route network is obtained. The results show that the air-rail intermodal transportation network is more flexible compared to the original route network, proving the effectiveness of the intermodal transportation mode. This provides some reference for air-rail intermodal transportation operators to establish air-rail intermodal transportation hub route networks at the strategic planning level in the new era. |
