Research On Architectural Decoration Art Of Bukui Mosque

The Bukui Mosque is located in Qiqihar,Heilongjiang Province,which was known as Bukui in the Qing Dynasty and was once the capital of Heilongjiang Province.The mosque was built in response to the demand for a mosque in the late Qing Dynasty,when the north-eastern borderlands were gradually developed and a large number of Islamic Muslims moved in,introducing Islam to the city.After being influenced by the Chinese and Western cultures as well as the local culture,the architectural decorative art of the Buqui mosque broke through the traditional Islamic mosque architectural decorative style to form a regional and diversified architectural decorative feature,becoming one of the important cultural relics of the north-eastern region.The Bukui Mosque is the carrier of Islamic culture in the Qiqihar region,containing rich historical and cultural information and artistic aesthetic value.This article aims to study the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque in a case study,enrich the theoretical system of art through the particularity of the case study,and focus on the characteristics and cultural connotation of the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque.It is hoped that through this article,more people will pay attention to the protection value and significance of the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque in a small border city,so that the architectural decoration cultural heritage can be protected and utilized,Strengthen people’s aesthetic recognition of the architectural decoration of Bukui Mosque,and promote the development and innovation of diversified design of modern mosque architectural decoration.This paper uses literature reading and analysis,fieldwork and multidisciplinary intersectional methods to conduct the research.Firstly,literature was collected and used to elaborate on the dynamics and historical opportunities for the development of Buqui mosque architecture in history.Secondly,using field survey data,as well as collecting oral data,we sort out the craftsmanship,components,motifs and colours of architectural decoration,from material to craftsmanship,structure to construction,and motifs to composition in order to uncover the cultural connotations in each element and reveal the artistic characteristics of Buqui mosque architectural decoration.Finally,relying on the relevant theories of cultural communication,the inner dynamics of the development of the artistic features of Buqui mosque architectural decoration are studied from the perspective of the spread of architectural decoration culture,the fusion of culture and the variation of culture.The research shows that Islamic culture,Central Plains culture,Western Region culture,and local culture constitute the architectural decoration art culture of Bukui Mosque,and further explains the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque.The architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque is no longer bound by Islamic teachings,absorbs traditional Chinese architectural decoration elements,and integrates the content of Western Region culture.At the same time,the decoration process retains the style and characteristics of architectural decoration in the Northeast.With the spread and exchange of various cultures,the decorative art style of traditional Islamic architecture has changed,and ultimately formed the decorative art of Bukui Mosque with regional characteristics and multicultural coexistence.The Bukui Mosque is the carrier of Islamic culture in the Qiqihar region,containing rich historical and cultural information and artistic aesthetic value.This article aims to study the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque in a case study,enrich the theoretical system of art through the particularity of the case study,and focus on the characteristics and cultural connotation of the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque.It is hoped that through this article,more people will pay attention to the protection value and significance of the architectural decoration art of Bukui Mosque in a small border city,so that the architectural decoration cultural heritage can be protected and utilized,Strengthen people’s aesthetic recognition of the architectural decoration of Bukui Mosque,and promote the development and innovation of diversified design of modern mosque architectural decoration.
