Research On Design Strategies Of Award-Winning Projects Of ASLA Healing Landscape

Health is the foundation of social development and an inevitable requirement for promoting all-round human development.In the 21 st century,China’s economy has developed rapidly and the people’s living standards have been continuously improved.However,at the same time,national health is also facing new challenges brought about by industrialization,urbanization,aging population,deterioration of the ecological environment,and the outbreak of the new crown epidemic.People urgently need beautiful environments that can release physical and mental stress,and Healing landscapes with complementary healing effects meet this need.In order to meet the characteristics and in-depth demands of users,a set of systematic Healing landscape design strategies is the embodiment of meeting this need.The American Society of Landscape Architects(ASLA)has a professional perspective,and the awards it presents have an important influence in the field of landscape architecture in the world.Moreover,many award-winning projects have been completed and the practical experience is abundant which are suitable for us to learn.In this paper,we selected the award-winning projects of rehabilitative landscape from ASLA in the 16 years from 2006 to2021,and used statistical methods,case analysis methods,systematic induction methods and other methods to deeply analyze and study 34 rehabilitative landscape cases.Firstly,in this paper,we sort out and summarize several aspects of Healing Landscape,such as the current situation at home and abroad,concept,particularity,relevant theoretical basis and classification,which lays a theoretical foundation for this paper.Then,the quantitative analysis of 34 Healing landscape award-winning works was carried out,so what we could make further efforts to obtain the development trend,source distribution,proportion of award categories and project categories,and user population characteristics of ASLA Healing landscape award-winning projects,which confirmed the significance and necessity of studying the design strategy of ASLA Healing landscape award-winning projects,Besides the award-winning projects were divided into five categories that provided a classification basis for the following case studies.After that,the design techniques of five types of Healing landscapes and the comments of the jury are studied,and different types of Healing landscape design techniques are analyzed and summarized,so as to provide content and thinking points for systematic Healing landscape design strategies.Finally,five design principles,eight design elements and five design strategies are summarized.In addition,ASLA’s Healing landscape design strategies are analyzed and summarized from the perspectives of scientific and effective design methods,sustainable ecological design,human-oriented design,diversified design of spatial structure and proactive horticultural therapy.It is hoped that through the analysis of excellent award-winning projects abroad,it is possible to summarize the healing landscape design strategy that will provide some reference for the development of Healing landscape in China.
