Analysis Of ASLA Professional Prize-winning Works(2005-2014)

Landscape Architecture industry has a big impact on today’s society.Landscape industry awards are also considered as the highest award by the landscape architecture.ASLA professional award is a leader in numerous awards that was known as the "Nobel Prize" of the landscape.It is also recognized as an authoritative international landscape award.This paper expounds the origin and development of the ASLA professional award.This paper will use case study analysis research method to analyze the winning entries in the past decade and summarized the trend of the development of the landscape architecture in the past ten years,and deep understanding of design concept and the award-winning works extremely advocated by the designer.This paper will predict the development and design trend of international landscape architecture from the research of the winning works.The criteria in the ASLA professional award and the future trend of development,has a very significance reference value for the development of Chinese landscape architecture.This thesis introduces the creation background and development of American society of landscape architects(ASLA)professional award as well as its influence on the landscape design of the place of origin-America.The source,number and type of award of ASLA award-winning works are analyzed systematically by quantized comparison and case study,which confirms the international development of ASLA professional award and its significance to landscape design.There are three representative design categories in ASLA professional award,i.e.,comprehensive category,residential category and landmark category.Based on winning time,they are compared and analyzed by dividing time periods,types and features.In theory,it is predicted that the landscape design will involve more disciplines and the relationship between man and nature develops harmoniously in the future,for instance,the rise of elastic landscape design,maturation of rainwater management system and pursuit of the original beauty of nature,etc.The future landscape design will result in the sustainable development of ecology,society,and landscape,which will become a criterion measuring the landscape design.
