Virtual simulation technology is a new visualization research technology,which should be increasingly applied in the field of education and is one of the modern educational technology tools.Virtual simulation technology takes virtual simulation equipment and virtual simulation software as the carrier,and its performance effect has the characteristics of intuitive,vivid and interesting.The integration of virtual simulation technology in the field of education is a positive response to the education informatization policy and regulations promulgated by the Ministry of Education from a macro perspective.From a micro perspective,it is an innovation of education technology.Contextual teaching method is also an educational method that has been advocated in China,and it also has the characteristics of intuitiveness.Therefore,this study combines virtual simulation technology with contextual teaching method and creatively applies it to the course of "Urban Rail Transit Ticketing Management" of middle-level urban railway majors,using virtual simulation equipment to explore the teaching design,teaching implementation,teaching effect and the direction of future development and improvement of this teaching method in practical application.This study takes constructivist learning theory,contextual cognitive theory and do-it-yourself theory as the theoretical basis,after reviewing a large amount of literature on contextual teaching method and virtual simulation technology at home and abroad,and defines the concepts of contextual teaching method,virtual simulation technology and contextual teaching method based on virtual simulation technology.Research methods such as literature research method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and experimental method were used to deeply analyze the deficiencies and problems in the current teaching situation of "Urban Rail Transit Ticketing Management" course in secondary schools.According to the curriculum standards,curriculum objectives,students’ learning situation,teaching contents,teaching methods and the characteristics of virtual simulation technology itself,a teaching design based on the contextual teaching method of virtual simulation technology was tried to be carried out in the secondary school "Ticket Management" course.The teaching design was also applied to a secondary school urban rail transit operation service class,and the effect of the teaching method based on virtual simulation technology in the course was analyzed from three aspects: student performance,questionnaire results,and interview results,using the malfunction of the coin-operated module of the vending machine as a class example.The results of the study found that the contextual teaching method based on virtual simulation technology can significantly improve students’ learning effect,enhance students’ learning interest,and improve their level of autonomy and motivation.The combination of theory and practice makes students use their brains and hands at the same time,which can improve students’ knowledge and theoretical level and practical operation ability,cultivate students’ comprehensive application of knowledge,and improve students’ urban rail transportation literacy.
