Research On The Mechanism Of Project Manager Competence On Green Buildings In The Construction Industry

In a rapidly developing social economy,resource scarcity and environmental degradation were the main constraints on social and economic development,and the construction industry,which was one of the pillars of the native economy,had a significant negative impact on the natural resources and circumstance.The development of green buildings is vital for saving building energy consumption,improving the human environment,mitigating the energy crisis and promoting the sustainable development of the construction.As the construction period consumes the most resources and causes the most severe pollution in the construction phase,the construction management of green building needs to develop in the direction of green and environmental protection,which will unavoid generate more demands and thus derive more management modes.At this stage,the project manager,as a key person in the management of green buildings,will have a significant impact on the achievement of the project objectives and will contribute to the development of green buildings with the ability to operate effectively.Therefore,in this study,in order to ensure the success of green building projects,the project manager competency in the construction industry is studied,and an attempt is made to explore the characteristic competency models of project managers in the construction industry,relationships between characteristic capacity models of project managers and green buildings,etc..By identifying the characteristic models of project manager competency in the construction industry and their influence mechanism on the success of green building,therefore,it has a certain reference for how to train and select project managers in the construction industry to ensure the success of green building.First,this study takes the characteristic elements of project manager competency in the construction industry as the core,uses document analysis,interviews and questionnaire investigation and derive the characteristic elements of project manager competency,uses factor analysis to statistically organize the questionnaire results,and proposes a characteristic model of project manager capability in the construction.Use of the model of structural equations to check the performance of characteristic models.The results indicate that the current competency model of the construction project manager is a multidimensional model consisting of 22 capability indicators with four characteristics.: basic knowledge and ability,leadership and organizational ability,management ability and emotional intelligence.Secondly,combined with green architecture project success theory,using relevant documents and standard documents for green architecture assessment to determine the key success factors of the green architecture project,and the mechanism of the role of competency on the success of green building is analyzed.Based on the analysis of the mechanism of the role of each characteristic element of the project manager on the green building success,the relationship of each competency characteristic element on the competency is finally obtained,and the evaluation criteria of three aspects of the success of green building,namely,economic goal,environmental goal and social goal,are derived by combining the existing research results.Then,the mechanisms and paths of project manager capability and its four characteristic elements on the green building success were analyzed through structural equation modeling.It was found that the inclusion of competency characteristics as a second-order latent variable would have a significant impact on green building success,while the four competency characteristic elements would also have a direct and significant impact on green building success.Finally,with respect to training and talent selection,forms and strategies were proposed to upgrade the project manager’s skills.Based on the analysis of four capability characteristics of the project manager in the construction industry,22 capability characteristic indicators,and the analysis of the mechanism of the role of their competency on the success of green building,improving the skills of the project manager in all aspects of basic training,leadership organization level,management skills and communication skills cultivation,and based on this,the project manager,construction enterprises and higher education institutions are Based on this,project manager competency development strategies are proposed at three levels: project managers,construction enterprises and higher education institutions,in order to promote the success of green buildings.
