Research On Project Manager Competency Under Green Building Performance

With the rapid development of social economy,the problems of resource shortage and environmental deterioration have become the primary obstacles.Therefore,green building has received extensive attention and achieved rapid development in China.However,green buildings will encounter more and more complex problems in the construction process.Project managers will face more difficult challenges.In order to ensure the smooth development of green building projects and improve project performance,it is urgent and important to develop a project manager competency system based on green building.This paper adopts the theory of project success,identifies the key success factors of green building project success through the research literature and the green building evaluation standard document.Then,author discussed the competency factors and competency model of the project manager.This paper used the representative root theory of qualitative research to identify 18 competency factors of project managers,and classifies them into five dimensions: knowledge and skills,organizational management,personal accomplishment,emotional intelligence and innovation ability.In this paper,the competency model is tested.The model consists of 5 assumptions.The influence path is the degree to which the project manager's competence influences the success of green building projects.The test results were obtained by using SPSS and AMOS data analysis software.The results showed that all hypotheses were valid,and the path coefficients corresponding to the five dimensions were 0.25,0.43,0.38,0.35 and 0.47.Finally,based on the test results,this paper further analyzes how to reasonably select an excellent project manager to be competent for green building projects.Then,optimizes the existing selection criteria for project managers.The research results of this paper improve the current project manager competency system under the background of green building development,and verify the importance of different dimensions of project manager competency in green building projects.The study can provide theoretical reference for promoting the high-quality development of green building and continuing training of project manager.
