Study On Landscape Construction Of Zhongnan Mountain Landscape Cultural Spatial Unit

Located on the southern edge of the Wei River Guanzhong Plain,the Zhongnan Mountain has both natural and human attributes.The Zhongnan Mountain was an important component of the civilisation of the Zhou,Qin,Han and Tang dynasties.For thousands of years,the ancient people living in the Guanzhong Plain have been aware of the natural landscape,developed an awareness of the landscape,and then built up the landscape and expressed their poetry and paintings,with Mount Zhinan always existing as an important landscape coordinate.The Zhongnan Mountain has become a spiritual centre for the eyes,the walks and the heart,and is the main factor in the construction of the regional landscape.It is important to analyse the historical development and experience of the landscape in the light of its formation process,in order to protect and reshape the regional landscape system.This paper focuses on the following three questions:1)What are the ideological connotations and values of the landscape at different historical stages in Zhongnan Mountain landscape cultural spatial unit? 2)What is the mechanism of landscape construction? What is the relationship between the idea of landscape architecture and the way space is organised? 3)How do we view landscape today,and how can we protect and pass on the wisdom of traditional landscape architecture in modern urban landscape construction?Through documentary research and field surveys,a total of 224 cases of landscape architecture within the unit were sorted out,and 104 cases were selected for spatial pattern analysis.The following three conclusions are drawn from the historical context and experience of landscape construction: 1)The concept of "landscape" in the Zhongnan Mountain landscape cultural spatial unit has been changing continuously,going through four stages: pre-Qin,Qin and Han,Wei and Jin to Sui and Tang,Song and Yuan to Ming and Qing dynasties,showing a process of change from the sprouting of a simple landscape consciousness to the creation of landscape construction to the flourishing to the inherited development.2)The landscape construction in Zhongnan Mountain landscape cultural spatial unit showed the characteristic of "Formed by Mountains",with the site selection and construction often based on the situation of the mountain peaks,resulting in the formation of "looking at the mountain","leaning against the mountain","Crowning the mountain",and "Covering the mountains".Although they are small in scale,but large in visual scale and far-reaching in spiritual scale.3)In order to protect the heritage of the regional landscape system,it is necessary to build a landscape overlook system at the level of urban design from the perspective of human perception.Faced with the reality of the decline of the landscape in the urban development of Xi’an,it is important to protect the ancient landscape architecture and the landscape environment on which it is based,to protect and control key landscape view corridors,axes and spatial order,to translate the historical experience and to create a contemporary landscape order.
