The rainwater pollution mitigation project of SZ City Engineering Company is the largest livelihood project in S County in recent years, with a total investment of nearly 100 million yuan.It is of great significance for urban development and not only solves the problem of urban landscape water pollution. The urban swampization that has plagued citizens for many years and the reconstruction of old communities have also affected the urban construction of S district in the coming decades.Due to the typical characteristics of S County’s economic development, project research can summarize risk management experience of similar municipal projects, which is representative to a certain extent. This paper studies the project risk management of the rainwater drainage project of Shenzhen Engineering Company, starting from the background of the municipal construction project, including the project overview and the geographical and cultural environment of S County. The basic theory of project management was used to sort out the project organizational structure and division of labor. On this basis, the project risk is determined by brainstorming, and then the project risk is listed by Delphi method method. Then, the transition from qualitative to quantitative project risk analysis was achieved by constructing a P-I matrix, where key and additional risks come from quantitative ranking of risks. Finally, specific risk response measures were identified for key and additional risks, and measures were proposed to improve the risk response capacity of project development units. The combination of project risk management theory and specific practice has improved the efficiency of project implementation and provided reference for risk management of other similar municipal engineering projects.
