Abstract/Summary:
Today, architecture is gradually losing its experience, and very few people can reach the poetic realm. While facing the decline of regional features, standardized design makes architectural features disappear; The excessive emphasis on "modern science" has emptied the meaning of the living world with certainty and accuracy, and buildings lack the intuitive and historical memory of places, resulting in the loss of human sensory perception.Architectural design has turned to the design of architectural experience, and the era of pluralism with "experience" as the starting point has arrived. In perceptual phenomenology,it emphasizes the importance of human perception in understanding and experiencing the material world.Under the influence of this perception,a comprehensive sensory activity is launched based on touch, vision, smell, taste, and sound.Decorative materials are one of the important factors in architectural design.Facing the return of architectural experience, the design performance of decorative materials has received much attention, which provides an important idea for the research on the perceptual experience of decorative materials.Based on the theory of perceptual phenomenology and from the perspective of perceptual experience, this article discusses the design presentation of perceptual experience of decorative materials in architectural space,in order to achieve the satisfaction of human experience needs and spiritual satisfaction in architecture and indoor space, and create a humanized place. This article takes the creation of Lingnan architecture master Mobozhi as the starting point, takes his perceptual experience design application of decorative materials as the main line, and takes Mobozhi’s creation and related materials as the basis. From the two dimensions of sensory experience and perceptual experience,it summarizes and refines the characteristics of perceptual experience design application of decorative materials in Mobozhi’s works, and further explores the methods of shaping space by decorative materials from the perspective of perceptual experience.Based on the above,in the first chapter of the paper, the background of the topic and related theories, such as perceptual phenomenology and perceptual experience theory, are described in detail. The second chapter is to sort out the types of commonly used decorative materials by Mobozhi,as well as to analyze the perceptual characteristics embodied in the decorative materials used in Mobozhi’s creations. The third and fourth chapters are the focus of this article, which comprehensively demonstrate the sensory experience and perceptual experience design application methods of decorative materials in Mobozhi’s creations. The "sensory experience" mainly focuses on the methods of analyzing the sensory experience design application of decorative materials through visual, tactile, and auditory analysis. The "perceptual experience" analyzes the temporal and memory performance techniques of decorative materials from the perceptual level, striving to enrich the sensory, spiritual Emotional satisfaction. The fifth chapter combs out three concepts of the design and application of decorative material perception experience in Mobozhi’s creations, using decorative materials to reflect the care for human spiritual emotions, the concern for environmental and ecological experiences,as well as historical memory and regional humanistic thinking.Through the discussion of concepts, emotional identification and memory identification of the experience subject can be achieved. Finally,as a master of Lingnan architectural design,Mobozhi’s research on the perceptual and experiential design and application of decorative materials in his creations can enrich the theoretical research on Mobozhi’s decorative materials at this stage, and has important significance for the development of the design and application of local decorative materials. It also provides new ideas for today’s architects to explore the perceptual and experiential design and application of decorative materials.
