During the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the Jin and Shang cultures kept rising,and the economic strength of Shanxi reached an unprecedented peak state.Folk houses and regional culture prospered accordingly,injecting new energy into the cultural heritage of Shanxi.The whole construction of the dwellings of Shanxi merchants reflects its unique aesthetic ideal in the construction concept,the design style and the ideological culture.The ecological aesthetic concept of the combination of human and nature shown is worthy of our in-depth study.In terms of the construction of folk houses,the folk houses of Shanxi merchants set the harmonious coexistence between man and nature as the main theme.The site selection of villages should be in harmony with man,architectural construction should follow the trend,building materials should be adapted to local conditions,and the environment of folk houses should be integrated into nature,etc.All these features indicate the symbiotic concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.It embodies a series of ecological aesthetic thoughts in ancient philosophy,such as "unity of nature and man" and "Taoism and nature".Therefore,from the perspective of ecological aesthetics,this paper tries to concretize the research object,analyze the ecological aesthetic value of the residential buildings of Shanxi merchants based on the theoretical viewpoint of ecological aesthetics,and then dig out the ecological aesthetic style reflected by the residential buildings of Shanxi merchants,so as to provide ideas for the follow-up inheritance of the ecological aesthetic concept of the residential buildings of Shanxi merchants.In addition,it provides some environmental protection inspiration and solutions to the shortcomings for the construction of harmonious and livable modern rural cities.
